New Cozy Prequel - Sugar and Sliced
Out for Preorder you can pick up this cozy prequel to the Maple Lane Mysteries for a crazy limited time price.
I'm excited about the new book and thought I'd leave you this excerpt.
They both looked up, and the detective seemed as anxious as she was to find out what had happened in that apartment.
“I suppose the fact no one came to tell you, or there wasn’t any gunfire, means you can assume whoever did this is gone?”
He stiffened, looking down at her from his over-six-foot height. “We’re not in the business of assuming, Ms. Flynn.”
Still, he didn’t deny it and, after another glance upstairs, pointed to the floor in front of him. “Please wait here a moment.” With that, he took a few giant strides, missing several steps, and disappeared inside the deceased's apartment.
Fingers tapping on her thighs, she debated whether to go inside her apartment. “Do you think he doesn’t want me to speak to Dalton without him?” She spoke quietly, and Big Red seemed to nod. “It would make sense, since he doesn’t know us and whether we might have answers to who did this or why.”
Big Red ran up the stairs and sniffed at the door, then scampered back down to sit innocently at her side just as the detective came out.
The detective nodded as if reassured she hadn’t budged and removed a pair of gloves before joining them on the landing. “Inside, please.”
The command was a little icy. What, if anything, had he found? Her mind raced. And who might it incriminate? Sugar and Sliced

Please note: this only applies to the ebook winners.
Again, I apologize sincerely.

Beagles Love Muffin But Murder is here!

The rest of the crew are there to help but will that put them in danger?
Naturally, she’s going to annoy the sheriff by poking into things, but it does concern her and, more importantly, those she loves.

Behind the Scenes - Part Two
Let’s be clear–33 books didn’t magically appear.
I spent years learning my craft before I pushed publish. Even now I upskill whenever I have time. Which leads me to the fact that it takes a looong time to write a book. Even when books are the same word count, some simply take longer than others.
There are those who write a book a month and others who manage 1 a year. My first book took several years. My last, 4 months. The difference between then and now is knowledge, belief, having a plan and deadlines.
While I endeavour to write 3-4 books a year. Everything hinges on my personal life. All the deadlines in the world don’t allow for being sick or family matters. Or pandemics.
One of the questions I get asked most often is ‘can anyone write a book’?
The answer is yes! This is completely true, but the fact remains that only a small percentage of those who would like to, ever do. The reason? It’s hard work.
I’ll talk more about that next time.

Behind The Scenes - Part One
The real story of my becoming an author began decades ago, but the publishing story began in 2013 when three of my close friends and I decided to self-publish.
My first book went up in 2014 and since then I've published 33 books over 2 pen names. That first book changed over the years and I probably should take it down as it's the only romantic suspense I have, but it's a great reminder of how far I've come - so it stays.
There is so much more to tell you about the journey, and I'll continue to post over the next few weeks.

NEW RELEASE!

Lyra’s been fun to write or rewrite in this case. She’s changing, as you would if you were stalked, stolen from, and then involved in murder!
With her loving beagle by her side, she’s not about to sit around and wait for answers. Even though it could put her into deeper and hotter water.
By the way, I’m about done with the first draft for book 2, which will be out before Christmas. It’s already on preorder, so if you haven’t got book 1 yet, now would be a good time. 😘 And it's also available in print.

Keep well and stay safe wherever you are.

New Series - Book 1 on preorder!
I'm so excited. After a few months spent working on this new series, the preorder for Book 1 is here.
It will be out on 26 September, or a little earlier if possible.
Whether or not you pick it up before this date, please consider adding it to your to-be-read pile.
Here's a sneak peek!
Lyra peered out of the lift. Her assistant stood at the hotel lobby door and beckoned her. Happy that she wasn’t about to get mobbed, Lyra wrapped a diamond-encrusted leash around her hand and hurried across the foyer with her nosy beagle.
The mainly white dog had a brown back, as if a dusting of cinnamon had been poured along her from head to tail. At least, the color had been more that shade as a pup. Now, her coat was paler—more of a biscuit shade really—but it was too late to rue that. Plus, she couldn’t imagine Cinnamon having any other name.
The doorman tipped his hat as they stepped outside into the sunshine of a Portland summer and a camera went off in her face.
Blinded for a second, Lyra couldn’t see who was behind it, and stumbled down a step. Maggie caught her arm, managing to hold her upright. Lyra's driver appeared on her other side and between them, they bundled her into the limousine.
Maggie thrust Cinnamon onto Lyra’s lap and climbed in beside her. “Get us out of here, please.”
They pulled away from the Curb with a squeal of tires, and Lyra glimpsed a man in a dark trench coat. Coal-black eyes stayed with her on the drive. Not the color—but the hatred in them. Was her imagination playing tricks?
