Being Pushed into Greatness
Some of you may know how I came to publish my first novel "When You Least Expect It." Well, in short, I had finished my masters degree in creative writing and had a half-finished novel, my masters thesis, sitting on the shelf. I would leisurely work on it here and there.
I was talking to my pastor one day about my writing in general conversation. The next week, he announces to the church at bible study that I was a publisher and that I had a novel coming out and I would be publishing his books.
WHOA - stop the presses! I was so shocked I didn't know what to do. The next day, I jumped into action. I began studying and learning everything that I could about publishing. Without that PUSH, I may have never completed my first novel. And one year later, i have three completed and published novels.
But, that's not where this story ends. Just today, 5/16/19, my pastor did it again. He announces on his Facebook Live video that I am his publisher, and he will be releasing his first book on September 10th. Yep, in that instance I felt shock and fear. I was shocked he announced it like that and fear of the unknown. What if I don't do this right? What if I fail? Do I know enough to get started?
That is one thing about being PUSHED, it takes you out of your comfort zone and puts you where you should be and not where you want to be. I want to be in my safe place. The place where i am still studying and learning to be a publisher. Instead, God pushed me to where he wants me to be. I heard Him say, "What are you waiting for?"
This morning, my pastor spoke about building trust and trusting the what and not the why. Increasing my faith and trusting the faith I have in God. Knowing that I may not have all of the answers today, but I trust I will have them when I need them. God is going to bless me according to my faith. And I have crazy Faith right now. Pastor has told the world i'm a publisher. Come on, Let's make it happen.
Thank you Pastor McCray for Pushing me again.

Welcome
When I thought about starting a blog, I was so lost and confused. I still am. Some people are so good at sharing. Sharing themselves, sharing ideas, and engaging others. ME, I'm not nearly as confident. That's when I discovered that would be my focus. I'm not perfect and don't always have great, insightful things to say. But I can share what I can, they way I can.
I want to be honest and helpful more than anything. I want to share my journey and my truths with hopes of helping someone else. I am a self-published author with a few home-based small businesses. I encourage entrepreneurship. I have a passion for leadership development and community service. Those things are so different and yet similar.
What I intend to share is my writing journey, writing tips, book reviews, publishing information, inspiration, and a little here and there about travel and weddings (my other 2 loves).
Do you love reading, world traveling and an occasional wedding or good party. Follow my blog, join my email list, keep in touch. I would love to learn more about you too.
