ARCS Are Here!

So the ARCs actually arrived last Wednesday. I tracked them through the UPS app to our local post office, and then stopped there to see if they'd give them to me early instead of getting them in the mail Thursday. They allowed me to take them (YES!), and I opened them later that night.

To say they look amazing is an understatement. My publisher did a wonderful job on the cover and interior - I couldn't be happier! I'm so excited to get this book out there into the world!

It's an amazing feeling to open that box and see the fruits of your hard work sitting there. It's quite a surreal experience! Now I'm reading through my copy of Lift, looking for grammatical errors. I've found a couple, and know there are at least a couple more. But that's what this phase is for. It's so cool to see my own book on my bookshelf at home! I'm still not past that surreal state, but getting there.

I've been asked to write a short blog post about Lift and the writing life in general for the Breathe Conference website, and I'm happy to be a part of that community. Their conference last year was inspiring, and this year I'm attending both days instead of one. It's great to be able to give back to the writing community!

ARCs Are On Their Way!

Hello from sunny Shelby, Michigan! I only point out that it's sunny because, as a general rule in the winter, we don't see a lot of sunshine around here. We take whatever we can get!

How was your weekend? I did not get to speak to anyone at the Book Nook, where Lift's launch party is being held. I was there at the wrong time, and they were closed. Bummer! But I expect to speak with them this Thursday or Friday, whichever is better for their contact person.

But I have exciting news: Amazon has shipped my ARCs of Lift, and I should receive them this week! In fact, I told our regular UPS driver, Mark, that he could drop them off at the library instead of running them all the way out to my house. I can't wait to see them in person!!!

Book Launch Scouting!

This afternoon, I get to leave my librarian job early to go visit the book store holding my book launch party for Lift (well, and to get our taxes done). The Book Nook & Java Shop in Montague, Michigan, has graciously agreed to hold Lift's party on Saturday afternoon, April 21, from 4:30-6 pm. The visit today is just to ask them some questions about the party.
