Update on Walker Close
I wanted to provide an update on the future of Walker Close (Ipswich’s only inpatient facility for patients with mental health problems and learning difficulties).
I note with interest, this article on the Healthwatch Suffolk page, that this organization is monitoring closely NSFT’s decision to close Walker Close, the only inpatient mental health facility in Suffolk that specifically helps adults with a learning disability.
The lack of clarity over what will happen to this vital facility is creating a lot of concern among families, and no doubt the staff working there too.
I have written to Healthwatch Suffolk, and hope to get a reply soon.

I hope this isn’t Government cost cutting in mental health services
This is my first article on this website, and its rather timely because my local newspaper has just run a feature on my brother Andrew. He is currently in an excellent learning difficulties in-patient mental health facility – that the Norfolk and Suffolk Trust (NSFT) want to close down.
The article gives some history to my brother’s condition and summarises why our family is unhappy about the proposed closure.

TV Review: Star Trek Continues
If you’re a fan of Star Trek, the original series, and you haven’t yet discovered the web series Star Trek Continues, you are in for such a treat!
I have fond memories of watching Star Trek, growing up. Star Trek Continues has transported me back to those dark winter evenings, after school, being utterly enthralled by the stories, characters and settings of the Enterprise’s 5-year mission.

BBC Announces Doctor Who Spin-Off Series Called “Class”
A friend sent me a link today to the BBC Doctor Who website, announcing that BBC3 will be making a series aimed at teens, called Class. It says, “Class is a YA series set in contemporary London.” We’ll get to meet “the heroes of Class”.
Well, hang on. I’d better just assemble my huge legal team to deal with this. Get Jerry off the golf course, I need him here now. The BBC aren’t going to know what’s hit them. Wales isn’t far enough my friends, keep running!

James Blake's Dilemma — Class Heroes short film 3
James Blake has an uneviable problem. You'd think he's got everything. He's young, popular, has a hot girlfriend and he's got superpowers. Life just shouldn't get any better than that.
But did I mention his girlfriend, Lolly, once tried to kill him? That she's a villainous psychopath? That James's sister Sam hates Lolly with a vengeance.
So where do James's loyalties lie? Is he going to choose Lolly over his family?
Find out in James Blake's Dilemma.

Red Carpet Moments
To celebrate the completion of my Class Heroes short films, I hired a cinema in which to hold a private screening for the cast, crew, friends and family.
And what a fun day that was. It was brilliant to have all those people who had been involved in the film, together in the same room at the same time. Filming had wrapped by the end of 2014, so it was like a class (heroes) reunion being all back together.
