Interviewed for this week's That Shakespeare Life podcast
Cassidy Cash interviewed me for this week's edition of her podcast, That Shakespeare Life. For those of you not familiar with her podcast, Cash dives deep each week into the life and times of Shakespeare.
For our episode, we talked about how Shakespeare used iambic pentameter in his plays and why that choice works so well. We had a lively conversation covering two of my favorite subjects - poetry and Shakespeare!
You can listen to the episode here:

Poetry 101 reviewed by YA Books Central
I'm happy to share that Poetry 101 has been given another positive review! My thanks go out to YA Books Central for publishing a thoughtful review by staff reviewer Elisha Jachetti.
Jachetti writes that Poetry 101 is a "wonderful entry point for anyone who has ever been interested in poetry or its history, especially during a time when poetry is in a resurgence. I appreciate how easy this guide is to read and I love getting to know some of the characters who shaped and influenced this art form. I would definitely recommend POETRY 101 to history lovers, artists, and English literature aficionados."
I also agree with her point that the book could use a few more actual poems published within its pages. She correctly guessed that the reason was for a lack of copyright permissions. That said, hopefully people will use the book as a launching point to discover poems published elsewhere.
You can read the review on YA Books Central website.

Poetry 101 reviewed by The Nerdy Girl Express
A big thank you to Katherine (@Kleffnotes) who gave Poetry 101 a glowing review on The Nerdy Girl Express Blog!
An excerpt: "While I had studied poetry in a handful of classes over the years I found Poetry 101 to be even more informative in many cases than some of the lectures I remember receiving. Dalzell is able to provide a great deal of information in a way that allows you to casually take it in while not feeling as though you are reading a textbook."
