The Fart of True Love - Availabe today on Amazon!

Hello Readers!

My newest romance, The Fart of True Love, releases today!

Check it out on Amazon or through KU.

The MCs are:

Cesar Shale, a cupid alienated by his employers and seeking a new direction in life.

Aiden, an assistant to a television personality who's addicted to his work and never had time for a real relationship.

Steve, an architect who's on a recent downward spiral.

Cesar naively, and at times accidentally, changes the world around him so that even those that have completely given up on True Love, finally have a chance to find it.

Eventually, the book info will port over to Goodreads. I suppose this is a good reason to do a longer pre-order window next time, so the book shows up in GR.

You can check out the new release newsletter over on substack for behind the scenes tidbits. Or check me out on twitch this afternoon (in about two hours, at 1 Central) to say hi or just hear the author's awful voice as he throws his first online book party. ;)

I'll be playing around with the 'text to image' art generator MidjourneyAI... if you want to suggest some prompts. ;)

I've spent the past week working out streaming kinks, so hopefully it's smooth sailing.

HEAs everywhere,
Chris

First and last stream

Hello,

It's my birthday!

I've been working up to having a book release party on twitch with a practice this afternoon (for my b-day), then Friday (for when patrons get the book), then when the book comes out on Amazon on Sept 2nd.

Here's the twitch link.

But I'm currently feeling crushed. My internet solution hasn't worked. :( I'm currently waiting to trial a second option, but I don't have high hopes. :( :(

Which means this friday and next friday might be the only streaming parties, if at all. Oh well. That's what you get for living on a country road, I guess.

+++

Anyway, let's cheer myself up by hyping my next book!

It's a romantic comedy called "The Fart of True Love", currently available for pre-order on Amazon and it will be in KU. If you're an apple reader or kobo or non-amazon person in general, you have until Thursday night to join my Patreon and get the book sent directly to your inbox on Friday!

Here's the Amazon link

The cover was partially AI generated using MidjourneyAI. Part of my streaming was going to be showing you how to do us the AI and taking your examples! If you want to hear me excitedly setting this up and full of hope for the future before being crushed like a bug, you can watch last night's set-up stream.

Here's the patreon link.

What's the comedy?

So we have a cupid, Cesar Shale, who basically learns to be human. It's a typical 'alien becomes human' kind of trope. Which was fun to write.

Then I bounce around between a few POV's which I got a kick out of. If you read my memoir and enjoyed the humor in Book Six (after the Big Fight where you, the reader, know more than pretty much all the characters including myself), then you'll enjoy the bounciness of this book.

It's a fast-paced narration. I noticed that while doing the final edit (which I would have finished today if not for the internet problem!!!!).

One of our heroes, Aiden, is in the television business and deals with quite a few big egos. I had fun writing them.

Also, it was fun to hint that just about everyone Cesar meddles with ends up falling in love. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't want to give too much away, but it was fun to tease the possibilities.

This is a third-person, clean romance. People do end up having sex, but it's fade-to-black cheekiness. It started out clean and I just kept it going through to the end. That was the vibe, sorry! My next short stories in October for Halloween will have some graphic sex, for those of you who need it! ;)

You can read the first three chapters of "The Fart of True Love" on my substack blog. Sign up to receive my new release newsletter in your inbox. One email per new book, depending on what you sign up for.

Here's the first chapter on my blog.

Happy reading!
Chris

PS: oh, and I also had a hope of doing a book club type thing every once in a while. The first book was going to be The Hourglass Throne by K D Edwards and his earlier books. I loved the series and can't wait to dive into the next book!

But it's on hold. :( :( :(

So I'm both happy to present a new MM romance novel, but sad to lose streaming because I was excited to do it and it's been motivating me for the past few months.

Yours,
Chris

My new YA Book out tomorrow!

Hello,

It's been a while... My last 'reading activity' was Six of Crows... and Netflix has since made a series out of the material. Shows you how long it's been. :) I loved that book, by the way!

Anyway, I have a new book coming out tomorrow: "Hair that Laughs in the Wind". It's a high school romance between a bisexual jock and a loner gay nerd. I enjoyed writing and finishing this project. It's great to be back in the groove. :)

This and the next book I publish will be a bit on the sad side because I came up with them during my dark years. But I have a couple others planned that will be funny, including one I hope to have ready for my birthday about a cupid who shoots his arrows where they aren't supposed to go.

My new book isn't listed here on Goodreads yet, but here's a link to Amazon. It'll be in KU for this year. I hope/am trying to will into existence... my own website that will kind of be like KU but for my books. Really, more like Wattpad with a paywall. I'm working my way up to publishing a book every other month (which helps the website idea make sense), it's just a bit of a sluggish start. More details to come as the website comes closer to reality.

And, here's my new release newsletter. I'll still post new release updates on Goodreads, but the formatting is SO painful on this website. I cannot believe nothing has updated on this social media site. My substack will always be free. Maybe when I get a website name, I'll make a subdomain and point it at the substack, but for now it is what it is.

You can read the first three chapters of my newest book (and any future new books) from within the newsletter.

A bit of a long message, but then again it's been a few years.

Thank you all for all your support,
Hard to believe how time flies,
Chris

Softcover books

Friends and fans,

After many headaches, all books in the It's Just Us Here series will have softcovers available to purchase on Amazon in the coming days.

PLEASE WAIT AT LEAST TWO WEEKS TO BUY THEM!

I'm having a terrible time getting the correct covers approved. I never should have uploaded them all at the same time, apparently. Three were approved, three rejected for one reason and three rejected for a separate reason, even though they're all based on a template and are stylistically identical.

I've had to upload temp files, then I'll go back and attempt to get the correct ones approved. It sucks. This has never happened to me before and as it's an automated system, there's no way for me to really complain. I just have to get through the approval process, then attempt to change them again.

+++

Since I'm having such trouble with the covers, once they are accepted, i will not be changing them ever again.

I had dreamed of personalizing all nine covers for dedicated fans, but I'll limit this offer to only the first book, since that cover was approved without any trouble.

Since I'm not personalizing covers, I will offer up to two pages of personaliztion in the front of each book. (Perfect to put your own review, etc...) All I'll do is copy what ever text you provide into the book, then upload the changed files, then let you know when it's live on amazon.

Best,
Chris

PS: on to writing some mm novels!

The Complete IJUH!

Here's the final book of the series! The Co-Parent is all about pulling my new family back together and making it official. Plus there's a couple chapters to put a nice bow on the whole series.

I hope you enjoy!

+++

I've been waiting to make this post until I had my May 17th plans finalized. Originally I wanted to have a 'relaunch' for the series with new covers and physical copies. Plus, I never really liked advertising an unfinished series.

Well, now it's finished! Yay!

And we're in the middle of a world wide pandemic.

I've noticed that my KU reads are up. I can't tell if this is because I released the final book a couple months ago (when the spike started) or because of the various lockdowns from around the world. Or if it's because the series is complete and I know a lot of readers wait until then.

I bring this up because I've decided against pulling the series from KU. I might subscribe to KU for a few months of pleasure reading seeing as I can't go to the library right now. If I'm thinking that way, there must be many others who tried KU once upon a time and will be returning during this craziness.

It would be foolish to remove the books from KU right now. So I'm not going wide for the May 17th release. Instead I'll bump it back to my birthday, August 24th. This means the books will come out of KU starting in July.

+++

That's it for me for a while. My family is safe and we're hunkered down with a lot of projects to work on at home. Also, we've hiking more in the past week than all last fall. It feels good. Weird, but good.

Except I now have two other people in my physical work space when I'm used to having solitude. It's an adjustment.

Anyway... Enjoy the finale of the series! New readers, enjoy the whole thing!

If you enjoyed the first three books, please leave a review on the Goodreads page for the trilogy, or on the Amazon page . This helps me with marketing and buying ads. ;)

Thank you so much for all the support throughout the creation and completion of this project. Life has been crazy lately and I haven't had the mental bandwidth to work on new projects. I'm still finishing/polishing IJUH. I'll be done working on this series on May 17th. Then I'll write a couple fiction books for you to enjoy. :)

The burnout I've felt for the past year has slowly been evaporating and I think it'll finally be in the rear view mirror when I finally say IJUH is 'done'. Here's hoping.

Till then,
Chris

The Foster Dad

Had a little problem with the pre-order for Book 8: The Foster Dad. (It wasn't my fault.) (This is why I've become addicted to checking my email first thing in the morning, because lately it seems there's always a problem that needs immediate fixing.)

Fixed it.

However, I uploaded it under a completely new book-link. The old link couldn't be salvaged. Anyone with a pre-order should've been notified of the cancellation. Sorry about that.

Here's the new link! The Foster Dad.

It's currently live. Because of the mix-up, the guys at Amazon fast-tracked the book publication so it went live within, like, an hour of me submitting the new book.

lol. Never had that happen before!

Enjoy.

The final book will be released on Amazon on Feb 11th.

I know I originally planned to have the entire series out in 2019, but this decision has more to do with awards-compatibility. If I publish the final book in 2020, and it's a serial story, I can submit the complete series to awards for 2020 contention. Which gives me more time to print books 4-9 and make sure everything is absolutely perfect.

Specifically, I want to submit IJUH to the RITA's. I've never been confident enough to do this in the past, but this one was a special project, so I'm feeling kind of 'what-the-hell-ish' at the moment. I'll never win a RITA, but I definitely won't if I don't give a submission.

:) Hope that works for you.
Chris

Also, even with all the drama, I hit 2k words on my Nano project today.

Lammy consideration? Maybe.

I'm writing to you today to publicly state my goal for the rest of the year: to submit It's Just Us Here to the Lambda Awards!

Checklist:
1) Admin stuff behind the scenes that you won't see. (boring)
2) Re-reading all the books. 1/2 book a day. Starting tomorrow, the 13th.
3) Publishing softcover editions on Amazon to be in compliance with the Award Guidelines. (However, I might prefer if you buy from Lulu.com because the books won't have an ugly white barcode on the back.)
4) Finish the last chapter of the last book! (Ah!)
5) Add the last third to Book Six. (From the skipped content in what was originally supposed to be book 7/10. This will bring that arc to a satisfying conclusion.) (PS: sorry for going out of order with regards to that missing section! You don't need to have read it to understand the adoption story line in the later books.)

I like this goal so much! It's got me motivated with finishing energy. :)

If you want to help you can:
1) Read along with me. 1/2 a book a day.
2) Read along via Google Docs. Point out any errors along the way. (There shouldn't be many, but if you catch even one, I'll love you forever!)

If you want to help via Google Docs, send me a message with your email (hopefully a gmail). I'll send you a shared Doc of the full book with the ability to add comments. You'll share with everyone else who is also reading along in this manner.

Why do I feel confident with this Google Docs thing? There's a new tool! It's called 'compare document' which allows me to check my original doc against ANY doc (not just earlier iterations of the existing Doc). So your comments/suggestions won't affect the Official Manuscript and I'll be able to catch any potential 'oopsies' via the compare function. I love it! They just made sure I will never switch back to Microsoft Word!

ALSO, the first three books are back in KU.

ALSO, for now, Book One, The Friend, is available for $0.99 and Book Two, The Companion, is available for $2.99. I don't know if this will be their 'usual' price, but I want as many people to read along with me as possible. Enjoy!

The Beginning of the End

It's Just Us Here: Book Seven is out today!

This is the start of the final trilogy, Family and Fatherhood, where Chris and Mark meet the kid who will eventually become their son. Lots of ups and downs. Enjoy. :)

I thought Amazon would port the details to Goodreads, but I guess the name is different on Amazon. Here's the Amazon link: The Husband.

Here's the Goodreads link. Can someone tell me how to make it link to this Goodreads account? Thanks!

Book Six, The Fiancé is out!

Hey Guys!

As the title says, Book Six, The Fiancé, is out on Amazon!

I super enjoyed writing this one and reading through the final copy. That doesn't always happen!

I hope you enjoy it, too.
Thus begins the publication of the final five books. I aim to have them all completely edited by November 1st. Let's see if I can make this deadline!

All the best,
Chris

Also, Books 4-10 will remain in KU until next year. I may put Books 1-3 back in for another three months, but I don't have any announcement to make on that at this time.
