A Much-Needed Update

Oh hello!

No need to send out the search parties or light the watchtower beacons- I assure you I am alive and well, but just very, very busy.

So what’s going on?

Ever since the TWO THOUSAND YEARS cover reveal, I’ve been working through my edits, had a birthday, met Jamie Campbell Bower, and getting ready for #PitchWars…

(… wait, did she say she met Jamie Campbell Bower?)

I SURE DID!

When he and his band COUNTERFEIT. toured the US this spring, I scored VIP tickets while they were in Boston. Do...

PitchWars 2018 #BoostMyBio

Time definitely got away from me where PitchWars was concerned, and only this morning did I remember it’s #BoostMyBio time! Though this will be my second attempt submitting to PitchWars, this is the first time I’m throwing myself into it, full-force. So here we go…

TWO THOUSAND YEARS Cover Reveal!

Today is the day!

I’ve been sitting on this amazing piece of art for a week and a half now, and trust me when I say I would have shown each and every one of you the awesomeness that is this new cover the moment I could.

To see someone else’s vision of your written word put to graphic design is something that’s beyond words for me. To see my world start to become something visual beyond my own mind’s eye…

And don’t even get me started on the talent!

Oh, gods, it’s amazing.

But before we go any...

Boston, you’re my home…?

I promised a post (or two, as its turning out) on world-building, and I have every intention of living up to that promise. I apologize that it’s taken me two weeks to get to, but life has been busy, what with video game conventions and whatnot.

So you want to know more about the world – or worlds – of TWO THOUSAND YEARS? Let’s start where it all begins, and one of them you may already know.

Boston, Massachusetts.

It seemed only appropriate to set the real-world portion of my story in a world...

The Magic of the Empire

Recently, I posted a poll over on my Twitter account asking what I should write about next. After given four different options, it seems as though Magic Systems won out, with World-Building as a close second.  So this week we’re going to discuss the magic of the Empire.

The Empire draws its power from the Annals, a legendary book of lore that houses the ancient Prophecy of Fire and Light, the fate-guiding force and instructions of survival for the Empire’s royal family. It is unknown where t...

Why Two Thousand Years?

And it all started with a song…

Two Thousand Years by Billy Joel came out on the River of Dreams album back in August of 1993. So this was the summer before I entered 6th grade, which was also the same time my best friend and I began creating this amazing role-playing world that consumed us well through high school. I mention this because this was also the same time when my creativity as a writer began to flourish, for as we were creating this world, I was writing about it in journals and no...

Social Media (and where to find me)

I am 35 years old.

It is not a secret that I grew up on AOL and dial-up modems.

And that being said, I try to stay on top of all social media platforms and what not because, c’mon, who didn’t have a MySpace or a LiveJournal at one point in time?

So where can you find me on the world wide interwebs?

The Parliament House

At the end August 2017, just when I was at the point where I was willing and ready to give up in my attempts  at ever being published, I was chatting with a friend I knew through a Facebook group (ACOTAR, anyone?) who had recently published through a small, independent press.  I had been following her journey for a little bit and decided to ask her some questions about her experiences publishing indie.

This, to me, was my biggest step.

Asking about an independent publisher, to me, had me hon...

Wattpad and then some

So here we are, two years later from when my greatest writing journey began, and let me tell you, it’s been one hell of a ride.

I joined Wattpad February 19, 2016 (I know this because the timestamp is ever-present on my profile).

I only had TWO THOUSAND YEARS under my belt at the time, but between my start date and now I’ve completed three more novels and four novellas, finishing out the series.  I’ve also started an adventure/fantasy/romance story along with its two novellas, another high fa...

In the beginning…

I’ve been thinking for a while how I should start this blog off and how to do it right.

This will be the second iteration of a blog set up about my writing journey, and I do hope this one comes off better than my first attempt.

All it took was some unknown, anonymous person deciding to criticize to give me that final motivation to actually do something with it.

I’ve been writing for years, but I was finally able to channel that creativity through NaNoWriMo, and it wasn’t until 2014’s event t...
