Music Monday: War of Hearts

Ironically, I think one of my least favorite things to do as a writer is write blog posts…

I know, I know…

But it has nothing to do with the lovely people reading this.

I think it’s because I would just rather be writing stories than talking about myself, if that make sense…

But MB, you’re just talking about music…

Yes, this is true, but it’s still talking about songs that connect to my thought processes while writing, so in a way it’s talking about myself? I think just having to convey my t...

Who’s Who in the Empire: Alexandra ‘Alex’ Ross, Queen Empress Alexstrayna

Alex was a pretty average young woman living on her own in Boston, a Starbucks barista by day until the surprisingly omnipotent stranger, Treyan, takes her away her to the Empire.  Only there, when she’s tested and tried to her limits, is her true potential discovered– and not just because she’s the predestined Queen Empress.

Alex moved to Boston when she reached her emotional limits while under her controlling parents’ roof. Both having prominent positions within their surrounding community...

Music Monday: The Arena

And, we’re back!

Things are getting very close and very real as we get closer to release day, so I’ll probably have to keep this short and sweet while I figure out what I’m doing with myself between now and December 11th.

Between NaNoWriMo, edits, interview and blog posts, just finding the time to stop and write out things like this is because difficult enough, and dare I saw it, a little anxiety-inducing.

But be that as it may, it is Monday, and there are only three of them left until relea...

There’s only one month to go until the release of TWO THOUSAND YEARS on December 11, 2018, and with so much going on behind the scenes, I’m just bursting at the seams to share it all with you.

But alas, good things come to those who wait.

But… I’ll be more than happy to go over them with you anyway because I’m incredibly impatient!

✨ TWO THOUSAND YEARS is still available for preorder at Amazon, B&N, and through The Parliament House’s website for those who want to get their hands on a paperbac...

Cover Reveals: Reylor’s Lament & Treyan’s Promise

It’s taken me a little bit to do so, but I’d like to officially reveal to you the cover reveals for the next two installments for The Empire Saga- REYLOR’S LAMENT, Novella # 1, and TREYAN’S PROMISE, Novella #2, will be coming out at the beginning of next year!

I wrote these two novellas in succession the summer after I finished the first draft of TWO THOUSAND YEARS. While writing TTY, I immediately knew there was more story to be told than I would be able to do within the first book, and star...

Music Monday: Playing Catch-Up

Sadly, things have been exceptionally busy as of late, and I really have nothing else to say but apologies for the lack of updates.

Even as it is, I’m currently cutting in to precious #NaNoWriMo writing and novella editing time to get this post up, but since it’s been almost three weeks without a musical update, I’m going to try to make up for lost time and give you three (3) soundbites to tide you over until next time.

The thing to know about these three songs is they were chosen very much...

Music Monday: Lost Everything

It’s not mystery that I might have a slightly small obsession with …

So it shouldn’t be a surprise to learn that I’m just as obsessed with his band, COUNTERFEIT.

So knowing all of this, it definitely shouldn’t be a surprise to discover that one of the songs off their debut album, Together We Are Stronger, has made its way to the top ten inspirational songs for TWO THOUSAND YEARS.

So here we go with this week’s music choice…

#9 – Lost Everything by COUNTERFEIT.

This son...

Music Monday: The Countdown Begins

This week is the two-month mark until the release of TWO THOUSAND YEARS, so I decided that as we all countdown together, I would start to talk more about what inspired me and helped me along while I wrote, revised and edited my debut novel.

One of the biggest bits of assistance during the whole process was music.

Now, I know a lot of authors make playlists that coincide with the events of their stories (Sarah J. Maas does this well) but I find that I rather listen to music that makes me cons...
