Bound in Black now published

I'm delighted to announce Bound in Black has now been published and is available on all Amazon websites, in Kindle or Paperback format.
It is a fantasy novel, so if you're interested, click
Bound in Black to learn more about my new story.
Or check it out on Amazon
It is a sequel to my first novel, Bound in Scales, and can be read as a stand alone too. (but it helps if you're familiar with the first story)
It is based in the same universe, but on a different world, and some characters from Bound in Scales return to make an appearance.

3rd draft finished

My 3rd draft of my new novel, Bound in Black, is now complete and out to my beta readers. I've done a lot of work on this draft and I'm in a good place. Can't wait to get some more feedback!
Still work to do, and I'm looking at publishing before the end of the year.

2nd Draft finished

I've finished my 2nd draft after a very quick week in Portugal. It's no fun lugging a laptop through airport security, but totally worth it for a chilled week with no day job to worry about and plenty free time to focus. I'm looking forward to my alpha reader feedback and getting stuck into the 3rd draft!

Nearly there!

I'm nearly finished the first draft of my new novel. I currently I don't have a title for it, but I'm working on it. I fly off to Lanzarote tomorrow for a week and I'm packing my the essentials. My laptop!
There's nothing like sitting out on the balcony with a cup of coffee and writing, while the sun comes up. I'm looking forward to some free time to dedicate to completing the story and coming home with the first draft under my belt, the first milestone in my process checked off.
I've a paperback copy of Jim Butcher's Storm Front as one of my holiday reads. And a Kindle version of Joe Hill's The Fireman, to keep my busy when I'm not writing.
I can't wait to get away, leave the day job behind and have plenty time to relax, read and write... oh! I forgot eat! And revisit La Bohemia, an excellent restaurant and bar with fantastic food.

My Favorite 2018 reads

I've read a few books this year and completed my 2018 challenge!

My stand out reads for 2018 are:

We by Yevgeny Zamyatin - loved this as I am a HUGE fan of 1984 and any thing dystopia or utopian ( or should it be utoptian / dystopian? you decide!)

Emergence by David R. Palmer - always up for post apocalyptic type stories and this one didn't disappoint. (and then I went on to read Threshold too - fun story)

I also indulged myself and reread the first 3 books in CJ Cherryh's Morgaine Cycle. I have the 4th still to read and I'm looking forward to that in 2019. Why? because it is one of my all time favorites!

So, that's the some the of oldies. I also discovered Nicholas Eames this year . WOW Kings of the Wild in March (after having on my Kindle for ages) Followed by Bloody Rose pretty much after it was released. These books are AWESOME! if you haven't checked them out yet, what are you waiting for?

And another new author for me, Leo Carew and his novel, The Wolf. I was hooked from the first chapter and can't wait for the next book.

Looking forward to 2019 and reading more when I'm not writing.

Tell me what you've read. I'm always looking for a good recommendation.

Non-Stop

Finished reading Non-Stop by Brian Aldiss.
I can't believe it was written in 1958!
What a great read and a fine example of classic sci-fi.
There's nothing better than discovering an old book for the first time.
Cool concept, great characters, plenty twists and some weird crazy rats!
Check it out and see how it was done way back when.

Audiobook update!

I've submitted my files for the audiobook version of Bound in Scales and I'm extremely pleased with the finished product. After reviewing the MP3's files (and remember I've read through the story more than 11 times) I can tell you my fantastic narrator, Adam Sims, has brought my characters to life through the spoken word. Just wait until you hear Sunburst's voice!
It takes 10 to 14 days for the approval and quality check process, so watch this space for updates.
