BLOG TOUR: GETTING TO KNOW MY MAIN CHARACTER

I first want to give a shout out to a very talented writer Mr Reed James. Thank you for thinking of me bro, when it came to doing this blog tour .I also  want to thank you for your great support of our movement #IndieBooksBeSeen. I have this vision that our industry can be bigger than it is currently. Where more indie writers are prospering. And i’m glad to have people like you that see my vision and are in my corner. I’ll never be satisfied  until putting out an indie book ,is a first option and not the last.Check out Reed’s blog http://blog.naughtyladiespublications.com/wp

GETTING TO KNOW MY MAIN CHARACTER: Meet Tim

1 What is the name of your main character? Is he or she fictional or a historic person?

Tim’s character is loosely based on my older brother Tim (yes i used his real name..lol), but  with a twist. The Tim in the book is white, lol. My brother Tim has this strength and wisdom about him and i thought my lead character should have the same.

2. When and where is the story set?

The story is set in Washington State in current times. But the forward takes place in Montana.

3. What should we know about him?

Tim is a gifted musician and a good soul. Tim also loves his friends and would put himself in harm’s way to protect them. He’s strong and wise beyond his years.

4. What was the main conflict? What messes up his life?

The main conflict starts after finding the native artifacts hiding in the cave, and him obtaining the staff. Bringing the items back and trying to sell them on eBay, set them on a life changing journey that would test them all and their friendships .The main bad guy Justin Sigo would give him nightmares for years.

5. What is his personal goal?

Tim just wants his life to revolve around music. Tim also wants his life to be normal again and that of his friends who have just endured a very scary adventure. Above all ,Tim want to forge out a future with his current girlfriend Josette .Might she be in the next book in the trilogy? Wait and see!

6. Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?

The Keeper Of the Wind is the first of a 3 book trilogy published January of this year. The next book (no title yet),I hope to have out later on this year. The second book will be epic! You can  Find my book and authors page on Amazon.com . And you can follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads and Tumblr .

7. When can we expect the books to be published?

My second book I hope will be out in the fall and the third book in the trilogy sometime  in 2015.

Thank you Reed, you’re a good dude!

In the spirit of the blog tour, I’m tagging one of my best tweeps and lil hommie,  The young and very talented ,author of Searching For Katherine, Melissa Holden:

Another great book review in....

"Keeper of the Wind," by Mark Shaw, is a young adult novel with elements of adventure and historical fiction.

The story revolves around three high school seniors who discover artifacts during a camping trip and subsequently try to sell them, only to get caught up in a web of drama, action, and adventure.

This is Shaw’s first novel, but it certainly does not feel like it. The writing makes the book feel as though it were written by a seasoned veteran.

The characters are incredibly dynamic. Each of the main characters is very different in terms of personality, upbringing, etc, and Shaw does a great job with each of them.

The plot is very engaging. You’ll start off interested in the story in the beginning, but soon find yourself NEEDING to know what happens next. There are enough twists and turns in the book to keep you up late at least a few nights, until you finish. There are also a number of lessons that young minds could take to heart in the book.

Overall, if you like YA books with a bit of history and adventure, then this is the perfect book for you.

Read 'The Keeper Of The Wind' on Wattpad

Read 'The Keeper Of The Wind' on Wattpad:

When a trio of high school seniors list three ancient artifacts for sale on eBay, professor and archeologist of native artifacts, Mitch Waters, believes he hit the jackpot. But is he concerned more with historical preservation or his own fame and fortune?

Author Mark A. Shaw brings together an unlikely yet entertaining trio of high school seniors, each of a different race and upbringing, who are separated from their senior class during a high school camping trip. On their own in the wilderness, they come across three authentic artifacts in a hidden cave.

The events that unfold once they return to safety and attempt to sell their newfound treasures on eBay intersect modern with ancient worlds, superstition with truth, and trust with trickery. In the tradition of children’s literature classics, The Keeper of the Wind takes readers on a magical and enthralling journey, along which three best friends learn the true meaning of friendship, teamwork, and perseverance.

This page-turning read introduces Mark A. Shaw as a powerful up-and-coming young adult fiction novelist, leaving readers to wonder: Will there be a sequel?
