"You'll Know When It's Time" in One Story Magazine
My contributor copies arrived today for “You’ll Know When It’s Time,” which comprises the February 2020 edition of One Story magazine. I’m so thrilled! Check out the first three pages below, and subscribe to One Story here. The first two issues are free, so theoretically you could always get February and March in the mail and then cancel your subscription (!), but I hope you don’t—and after reading a couple of their issues, I don’t think you’ll want to.

SELF-PORTRAIT WITH BOY Long-Listed for the 2020 International Dublin Literary Award

I’m honored to report that SPWB appears today on this jaw-dropping long-list, alongside many (all???) of the recent books I’ve admired, this year and last. The International Dublin Literary Award is unique in that books are nominated by public libraries in cities throughout the world.
It’s a beautiful prize and I’m just thrilled to be considered.

My short story "Chicken" Performed by Michaela Morton at Liars League NYC
I had the absolute pleasure of witnessing one of my short stories performed at Liars League NYC last night. The video quality here is not great, but the actress Michaela Morton did a magnificent job! Very grateful to Andrew Lloyd-Jones at Liars League for putting together such a great night. (This piece, “Chicken,” was originally published in Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading. You can read the whole thing here.)
