New Series w/Guns Blazing

A new series came out within the last few days and it looks like it’ll be right up your alley if you like my books. I don’t personally know the author(s), nor have I read the books, but check them out. From the blurbs (and the covers) they look awesome! Who doesn’t like a book cover with guns blazing?

Here’s the series page.

New Freebie in the Works!

I’m excited to announce that I’ve finally got a FREE story in the works. I’m not skimping on it either. This story will be longer than Tough Luck. I’m very pleased to be giving a quality story to my fans and new readers.

BAD LUCK is Nehemiah’s perspective covering the events during TOUGH LUCK,  into OUT OF LUCK. Basically, it bridges the gap between the two stories and unveils a huge revelation about Nehemiah’s past. You don’t want to miss it!

Behind the Scenes: Book Cover Creation Process

There’s a lot that goes into making a book cover and I don’t have the skills needed to do it myself.

Here’s the process from start to finish, in case you’ve ever wondered how it works. I’ve even included snippets of my conversation with the artist so that you get an idea of the back and forth nature of the conversations as well.

——————————————————————

Artist:  Can send me a blurb of the book, if you like. It will help me get an idea of what you want on the cover. It’ll also help me keep an ey...

Out of Luck drafting is done!

Out of LuckPhase:Editing23%

Update 12/31/17: I finished drafting Out of Luck!

But if I released it today it would suck. That’s why it’s going to get edited by myself, then it’s off to some Alpha readers, then some Beta readers, then back to me for the final edits.

I have about 37 scenes to go through. Each time I edit a scene the progress bar will increase.

For my own sanity, I’m also going to set this story aside for a day or so and start on Nehemiah’s short story, which I’m really stoked ab...

Behind the scenes: Audio Inspiration

While my imagination is stimulated by visuals whether they be art from deviantART, or pictures of actors or models, I’m also very creatively stimulated by songs.

I can’t really listen to music with lyrics because I tend to focus on the vocals, and I definitely can’t listen to my favorite music which is extreme death metal because there’s just too much going on and the riffs are way too catchy to not bang your head too. But when I’m writing or brainstorming, or basically doing any part of the...

Quick Update on Out of Luck

The percentage bar hasn’t moved, but the story and the word count have progressed greatly since the last post.

I’ve got a lot of good world building done which has informed the story tremendously. Most of the world building is actually stemming from the characters Sean, Nehemiah, and the antagonist(s). As I flesh out these characters and their motivations and goals, potential conflicts arise in my head and spark new ideas, which in turn spark even more ideas.

This next story is going to be...

Behind the Scenes: Character Moodboard

I am constantly inspired by visuals. I created a digital “moodboard” when I was working on the story for Tough Luck, even when it formerly didn’t contain any Irish mythology.

Here’s some of the images I used to grasp what my characters looked like. I used these as a springboard for my imagination to be able to visualize the story in my head.

Images of Sean (formally Henry in my original draft)… and eventually the book cover model.
