A Gentle Stroll

Many a woodland path have I strolled
Through balmy winds and those that blow cold,
But now as life digs in and takes its toll
Old legs forbid such a demanding stroll.

Orchards in blossom sway in my mind
Perhaps they too I have left behind,
But even if life is beyond my control
I will still find a place where I can stroll.

Over bracken moorland, over stony ground
Paths I’ve wandered, paths I’ve found.
Leaves I’ve trodden and streams I’ve crossed,
Both when fair and sometimes in hoarfrost.

When the winter rain does come driving hard and fast
It will not determine this winter as my last.
But for now whilst the sun shines from morn till eve,
I shall bathe in its sunlight dreaming of paths I shall not leave.

The Other Side Of Hell

Hidden away memories locked up never to be seen.
Pain that’s been witnessed both agonising and obscene.
Conscience never heeded whilst acting in the name of right.
Lives that were taken in the shadows of the night.

Should you have ignored what was asked and turned aside?
Forgetting all the truths you told only remembering how you’d lied.
Your lies live in the darkness where death stands in wait,
To separate you from sanity altering the path to your fate.

There’s no time in eternity, there’s only the present you will find.
The future was but an illusion that painted rumours in the mind.
But remedies are forbidden inside this anguished cell,
For the nightmares that exist on the other side of hell.

The Simple Truth

What call you love?
What call you life?
What is it you do that makes you-you?

Tell me your truth.
Tell me your lie.
But bring love to my life then let me die.

The Secrets In The Silence

The Secrets In The Silence

It’s in the silence of the shadow where you find the secrets in your mind.

But is it really a weakness that leads you to the pain that you will find?

If you can live through the emotions on the faces that you’ve put away

Then it’s a dream you’re living in the present and you’ve forgotten yesterday.

It’s in silent screams you find the shadows where the silence is deep and low

And a mind filled with shadows leaves the silence no place to go.

For light to shine in shadows the darkness must be deep.

But how do you find solace when the light’s too bright to sleep?

Shapeless shadows hiding secrets that are too dark to force to leave

Betray the darkest reasons that leave no choice but for me to grieve.

A Unique Number

Take 2018 from 2019 and it leaves the figure of one. A unique number. A numerical symbol sharing no other to make its total. We as humans are all one, exclusive to ourselves. We are all unique. We share our individual DNA with no other.

However, in our uniqueness, we do have things we share and perhaps at this time of year, the one thing we all have most in common is our desire to live our lives in peace and happiness.

As the numbers change in your part of the world I wish you all find the peace and happiness you wish for.

The Widow's Son

Synopsis:

Three months before the invasion of Iraq, a member of a Masonic fraternity known as the Rosicrucians is helped to escape from a British Intelligence holding station by the head of a counter-intelligence department inside the Russian Federal Security Service. But why was that, and what is it to do with a remodelled, highly classified CIA file, code name Gladio B that makes George Orwell’s novel 1984 read as though it’s a supplement to Winnie-the-Pooh?
The eight families who control the machinery of worldwide governments have shaped that file for their own ends, and in order to accomplish their ultimate aims they propose to start the war on humanity by using American field howitzers firing stolen Russian weaponised anthrax and phosphorous artillery shells on an unlikely target.
The first task facing the new chairman of the British Joint Intelligence Committee is to destroy the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics, and although he is aware of the location of these weapons of mass annihilation, time is running short before the whole situation is overtaken by the escaped Rosicrucian receiving the Masonic mystical ‘thirty-three degree level of understanding’.

The Resolve of Winter

The Resolve of Winter

The harshness of winter is carried lightly on a breeze
Bending blackened branches to wave goodbye to its leaves.
Cold are the nights as the sun disappears from the day
And eerie is the silence when the stars come out to play.

Without pity is that winter showering misery and pain in its wake.
Watching on and smiling at the hearts and backs it does break.
But compassion comes with Christmas, but does it last beyond a day,
Or is it just like winter’s sympathy; with no resolve to really stay?

For a lie to add piquancy to a story, the story would be factual. Fantasy needs no lie to stimulate or excite. But if the factual story is contrived or fallacious then it’s the fantasy that is the truth.
