Day 1,967: Spring Clean

It’s official. The Ho-Heinichen household is doing a spring cleaning.

We usually do one each year. Some are bigger than others. This one should be a decently big one. I think we’re actually going to hire someone to help, too. Get the professional sparkle, you know.

It started in earnest about a week ago when Liz got some new curtains and pillow covers. Today, the new rug and coffee table came and hooooly shit. Our living room looks dope.

We’re giving away our old Wii. We’re giving away the su...

Day 1,966: Vigilance

I just figured out a major motivation for a character in the new book I’m plotting. That felt nice.

I won’t share it here because, well…I think it might stick with the story, and if you want to know the STORY, you’ll just have to read it when I finish, ya know? Course you do. It’s not you reading the problem, it’s me finishing

Day 1,965: Sweet Air

The orange trees are blooming in LA. The air is sweet, and today was the first truly warm day we’ve had so far this year.

There was a light breeze during nighttime walks with the pups, and I was feeling a bit burned out from everything…podcasts, music, audiobooks, writing, TV, sports…everything. So, I walked with nothing but the sweet breeze.

It was magical.

I also took a nap as soon as I got home. I was tired today. So was Liz. Both of us drained from stressing over Coco, I think, and me als...

Day 1,964: A Quick One

Quick one tonight because it’s way past my bed time for no particular reason, which stresses me out a bit. Sigh.

But, tennis tomorrow. Had a *great* day today.

Night

Day 1,963: Health Is Number 1

Today reminded me that our health is really all we have. It’s number 1. Nothing else matters.

Poor Coco. She’s under the weather.

A couple days ago, she threw up her breakfast, and then had some stool issues later that morning…but then she was fine. Until last night.

Last night, she woke up three separate times to throw up and or have diarrhea. And there was (what looked like) blood in her stool. It was enough of a concern for us to take her to the emergency vet down the street.

They took her...

Day 1,962: It Takes A Little Time Sometimes

It takes a little time sometimes for things to sink in for me, for them to actually work.

I read this book last year when I was really struggling with anxiety and my writing called Getting Things Done. It’s been around for, like, 25 years or something like that, and there are a lot of people in the business world that use what they call the “GTD” system to run their day to day operations with as little stress and lost work as possible.

Well, I read it, and I got this app for my phone called “...

Day 1,961: Wiseguy

Heeeyyyyyy…

So. Today. I thought today was tomorrow. Damn it! I realized it in time, however, to avert disaster.

We were supposed to go to this screening tonight…or, rather, we’re actually going tomorrow to this screening, but I thought it was tonight. And both Liz and Josh were able to switch around their schedules, praise be…

And thus, Josh and I watched Goodfellas tonight. It was

Day 1,960: Near Disaster

Guys! Near disaster today: I left my headphones on the shuttle to work.

Liz got them for me for Christmas; Bose Quiet Comfort IIs. They’re dope. If you’ve never had noise-cancelling headphones before, they’re a gaaammmeee changer for focusing and getting work done. Particularly when you need to tune out the world.

Luckily, that shuttle runs on a loop, so I just waited for it to come back around, and they were right where I left them. Totally crapped out my morning work session, though. I was...

Day 1,959: Reviews

Film School continues to come together steadily. I sent out a call to my friends and family tonight to check the show out, and leave a review to help us launch this thing.

Reviews are the biggest factor when it comes to showing up on podcast searches, any of them, and most pull their review info straight from iTunes. We need to get 10 of them to get a “rating” with iTunes. That’s goal number one.

I want to get us to 50 next

Day 1,958: Time To Save Daylight!

Guys! It’s finally back to savings time, aka getting dark at 4 in the afternoon. Undoubtedly, this is the harder switch; getting used to going to bed early, getting up an hour earlier. That sucks. But the time itself does not
