Day 3,243: DJing

We set up the DJ controller again, finally. Man…I haven’t mixed a set in waaaaaayyyy too long. I need to figure that shit out. I want more music to write to. Crave it. Need it.

I need to finish my book, guys. Simple as that. Then move along. I’m so close. Sigh. Resistance fighting me hard on that one, for sure. Been a rough couple weeks for the writing. But, I’m still within striking distance.

We watched When Harry Met Sally tonight for the Film School podcast. Josh had never seen it, and he’s a bit of the old romantic. A perfect combination. One of our best watches, I think. It’s up there. Such a good movie. One of my favorites, and easily Liz’s all-time favorite. It’s about friends becoming lovers. Had a legit low key day today. Did my Netflix work. And that was abouuuuuttt it. It was exactly what I needed. Whew.

Plan was to jump in and write tomorrow, but I might scrap that. Maybe not, though, now that I think about it. 30 pages today and tomorrow is better than zero pages…

I’ll sleep on it.

Day 3,240: K

Okay…I’m back to my routine now. It was an exhausting day, and I really am wanting to have a reset/rest day tomorrow—hopefully everything cooperates with that—and then it’s going to be back to the grind. That’s going to be a challenge, I think…but I can do it. A challenge because it always is…but I have a lot of experience with it. The key is to just have some grace and buckle down when it’s time to buckle down. Get this book finished.

Day 3,239: For Tea

Maaaaaann.

A year older. Wiser? Better believe it.

It’s late, so not going to make a huge entry tonight, but…I worked today. Had clients. Took a nap. And then we went and had the most insanely delicious pizza with my parents—who also got their car fix today, woohoo—and then came home and watched an episode of Alone, which is officially our new show.

It was kind of a perfect day.

Gonna be a quick one tonight. No pages written, but I did do some catchup work, both for the Flix, and in terms of the extra stuff, like putting up the first podcast episode in two weeks.

Whew.

Chill day. Thank you LORD. Watched some football in the morning (we lost a game we should have won handily…but whatevs; kinda the Niners MO the last couple years and then we go deep in the playoffs). Took an EPIC nap. Sent Scott and Addie on their way home.

It was a great weekend. Everything I could have wanted on my birthday. THANK YOU to everyone who made it happen.

Day 3,236: Done Partied

We did it!

Birthday slash housewarming party has been accomplished, and it was by all accounts a success. Whew!

The effort to get here, honestly, has been colossal, but y’all…so. damn. worth it. The house is INCREDIBLE. We’ve put together sooooo much stuff. We’ve finished sooooo many projects. Day 3,235: She’s Cool

Addie is in town! The clan is all together. It feels so good.

It rained. It’s FINALLY cooling down…and it looks like it’s going to be clear tomorrow, so I think we’re in really good shape for the birthday festivities to COMMENCE. I’m so excited.

Shed is done. Stuff has been moved inside. It has a small leak by the front door, but I think it can be sealed up with some epoxy. Maybe. We’ll see. Honestly, it hardly ever rains here, so it’s not the end of the world. I’ll be putting my bike over...

Day 3,234: Wow

I…made so much progress today on the house projects. Like…SO MUCH progress.

I woke up and started early. Like, super early, because I’d not been getting enough stuff done starting at around 7:30. I needed to get started earlier. And I was running out of time. I still am…but after today, not so much. We made INSANE progress. The backyard is in great shape now for the party. We started work on the shed, and should finish it tomorrow morning. Those two things are literally what has kept me up at...
