Day 3,272: Balance
Finding the balance between “too fast” and “slower than it needs to be” is a struggle for me, man. Whew. I operate so much in the extremes of those, two. Or…you know, not really. The fear of the former is what makes me live the latter for the most part.
BUT…I can go too fast. We’re talking writing here. I can go so fast that I lose my sense of what I’m doing. Things slip through the cracks.
I have to say, I’m starting to turn the corner, though. I’m getting better at finding the pocket bet...

Day 3,271: home :)
I’m home!
What a whirlwind of a trip up to Portland and back again. It’s actually doable without being completely exhausting. That’s what I’ve learned this weekend. Even with the delays, which apparently are a pretty standard thing now on Southwest, the trip was reasonable.
The baby shower was a resounding success. Had a nice long check-in with my bro this morning. Helped set up and get ready. Hung out with fam and friends. And then caught a flight back home.

Day 3,270: PORT
Spent the night up in the land of port! …and totally forgot to write a blog about it.
Sitting at home now, but I’ll cover that in the next entry. Yesterday I worked, took an evening flight up to portland, it was delayed quite a bit…got there about 11, chatted with my bro and Addie until about midnight, and then went to bed on the couch.
Twas a grand time! 🙂

Day 3,269: Busy
Man. I have been so busy lately. It really hasn’t let up. Damn. And I’m sitting here in bed realizing that I have some major commitments that really make sure I stay busy, you know? I’m gonna have to re-think that. I don’t like being quite this busy. It’s too much. I like a little more wiggle room.
Things to ponder. It’s always a struggle for me because I truly love being busy. But it does reach diminishing returns at a certain point.

Day 3,268: Them Cuts
Busy busy day. Work is intense right now, which thank god it wasn’t last week. Whew. But, I have my time all spoken for, that’s for sure. Fit in a couple clients, need to send off a quick little rewrite for Glory 2, which I’ll handle in the morning. Want to make sure I get it right.
I’m stressed about having this book in shape by publishing time…but I know that if I keep my head down and get my shit done, I can do it. Wish me luck!

Day, 3,267: Them Cats
Travel plan snafus today, BUT…we handled them. Still going up to Portland for the weekend for my bro’s baby shower. Woo hooooo!
We also bought a new TV. Not coming for a bit, but it’s ordered. Install happening a week from Saturday. Life: upgraded. No more dark spots on the TV! Really looking forward to a TV that we can actually rely on.
Worked late. Gotta catch up from getting behind a bit last week, but I can do it. Start editing the book tomorrow, too. Getting ready to turn that around ...

Day 3,266: Whirlwind
Man. Today was BUSY with work. Unexpectedly so. BUT…handled my shit.
Gonna load the ol’ book on the kindle tomorrow, start reading through it. I didn’t get the chance to do that with the last Glory book. Gonna do it this time! I’m excited about it, too.
Pups have been extra snuggly. Got to spend some really quality time hanging out with Bear today. We went over and checked in on our friends’ kitties since they’re out of town. They’re so old, so sweet. Had dinner together. Walked the pups. ...

Day 3,265: Another Dream
Wow. Busy day!
I slept in a bit. Earned that shit. Watched a little football. Niners won, but a bunch of our players got injured. Don’t like that part. Hopefully most of them will fine soon. Went to Etta for Joe’s birthday and then over to Matt and Cat’s for her birthday, too. Came home and walked the pups, got read for ze sleeps.
Now, we’re in bed listening to music from 2016 because we couldn’t remember The Chainsmokers. But then we figured out. And here we are. Some good stuff from six ...

Day 3,264: Pop
Pop the bubbly. The first draft of Glory 2 electric boogaloo is DONE.
It’s…quite the ride. 150,000 words. 540 pages. In some sections, it’s the best work I’ve ever done, think. Overall, I don’t really know yet. I have to read it, sit with it for a while. But, it’s done. It’s off to my co-writer and our editor. I’ll get a few days, I think, to make some final continuity adjustments and whatnot, but otherwise…done. Onto the next.

Day 3,263: Eighty
Met my villain tonight for the very first time. I know who he is, now. Took me a bit, but better late than never.
He’s not going to be executed perfectly in this book. I don’t have enough time. But, I think he’ll be close enough. I hope so. He’s quite the motherfucker. Smart, cruel, and unpredictable. A fanatic.
