2024 - A year of Venn diagrams
After a 52-week visual exploration of prime numbers in 2023, soon to be a book, my 2024 project will focus on Venn diagrams. While they demonstrate forcefully that design works better than words to communicate (from kindergarten to the corporate boardroom, who hasn't been exposed to colorful, multi-diagram presentations!), very little is known about their presence in art.
Why? How come? That's what I'll set myself to find out in a 52-week visual exploration of their geometry. I'll post my weekly updates on my FaceBook page and compile my findings in a book at the end of the year.

The Knot Geometry journey
One year to complete, 1/2 year to prepare for publishing: the knot geometry journey is now available in print and electronic form on Kindle, Barnes & Noble and others.
This 3-part book is a visual exploration of knot geometry and ethnomathematics to celebrate the similarities between abstract geometry and unique cultures of the world. Starting at latitude 0º, longitude 0º, the author set sail (virtually) westward at an average of 400 (nautical) knots a week to fully cover its circumference and explore 1 new knot each week for an entire year. Part I is the art portfolio extracted from the geometry models, part II is a detailed record of the original geometry used to create the artwork, and part III is the weekly wind map log showing the project’s positioning, actual winds, and currents in real-time. Illustrations, notes, and references.

The octaplex
My paper on the Octaplex - the exploration of an intriguing 4th dimensional object is now available on Elsevier-Science direct as part of the ICPAM-11 conference proceedings @
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science...
Some believe the 4th dimension is time. Mathematicians offer a much more grounded alternative that can be put to good practice in art too...
