NEW RELEASES

MV Ellis | Heartless Few

Forgive me readers, for I have sinned…

It’s been forever since my last post. However, I have (what I think is) a really good excuse. I’ve been writing my butt off, all day erryday to produce more goodies for readers. Thanks to my hard work and lack of sleep, I have not one, but two new releases between now and September 1. Because I’m generous like that. Gasp!

Yes, that’s right, my Heartless Few series is expanding. By popular demand, the first, Cold, Hard and Heartless is released on Au...

Naming A Book Baby

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

Someone with a lot more wordsmith prowess than me wrote that immortal line. I love the words and sentiment, but I beg to differ with the Bard on this issue. Because I’m full of myself, like that. In all seriousness, having named two children and a number of characters, I just don’t know how someone can claim this to be the case.

I agonised over naming my first child to the point of obsession. My husband and I had a shortlist longlist of names...

Diversity in Romance

2018 Calling…

Catching London features an interracial couple, which naturally had me thinking about diversity in romance books. It’s certainly a genre that doesn’t have a great track record in this area. I grew up clandestinely reading romance books by the dozen. However, I have no recollection of any diversity in the characters I came across.

I recently caught up with the team at whimn.com.au to talk about diversity in the media in general, and in contemporary romance writing in particular...

The Power of Music

If music be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken and so die.
~ William Shakespeare

You probably know by now that music is a huge feature in my life. Huge. On a personal level, I love music and always have. I don’t play an instrument myself (and never have), but have always appreciated those who can. Learning to play is on my very long bucket list. One day. In the meantime, growing up, I was always involved with dance, theatre productio...

Judge A Book By Its Cover

He says he’ll catch her, but will she let herself fall?

Writing a book can be a rollercoaster ride. The highs can be ultra-high, and lows can be mega-low. I’m fortunate in that lately, there have been way more highs than lows. The current case in point is the fact that Catching London has a cover. Oh, and I just happen to LOVE it. LOVE. IT.

Did I mention that I love it? Well in case you hadn’t noticed, I love it. I love that it’s in keeping with the black and white theme of my previous tease...

They’ll Always Have Paris

love, paris, atticus, poem, quote, mv ellis, catching london, arloandlondon, arlo and london

I don’t know about you, but I have a special relationship with the City of Love. In short, I can’t get enough of it. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is that I adore so much about it. I think it’s a combination of things that make it uniquely Paris. The architecture, food, fashion, art, and just the general “vibe” make it one of favourite cities in the world. There are others, but Paris holds a special place in my heart. Each time I visit the city I fall in love with a different aspect...
