[Dragonmun Studios] MegaCon Update - Floorplan and other info

Home • Patreon • Discord • Event Schedule
This email is kind of a copy/paste of the MegaCon event post that I sent with my last email. As this show is where I've met most of you and you've expressed an interest in this information, you might want to bookmark that link. 🥰

Naturally this is almost on the complete other end of the hall from where you'll be coming in. The easiest way back there is probably along the wall to the left. This mig...

[Dragonmun Studios] The March of Geeks

Home • Patreon • Discord • Event Schedule
I know that February is the shortest month of the year, but what the hell was that?! How is it March?!

(not my cat, but that face is my exact mood)
Last Month In ArtFebruary was a fairly busy month in terms of creative endeavors - largely in part because I still feel like I'm learning how to do digital art all over again. First this picture (a closer to the finished version can be found on Patreon by clicking here) kicked my butt:

Then this picture kic...

[Dragonmun Studios] 100 Years of Awesome (and some other stuff)

Home • Patreon • Discord • Event Schedule

For me, January was pretty much entirely geared towards monumental family events. My grandmother in particular as she turned 100 years old last month! I can't even begin to touch on how amazing a woman she is. She found a love that lasted through the biggest war in history. She traveled across different countries for her family. She saw the first airplanes, cars, and even electric lights! Through it all she's continued to be the most loving and humb...

[Dragonmun Studios] "Pragmatic"

Home • Patreon • Discord • Event Schedule

It's 2023 and this year's version of "new year, new you" seems to have come in the form of words. Single words. Words that one chooses as an all-encompassing mantra for the year. I like this idea and have decided on "pragmatic" as my choice of word for 2023.I picked this because I have a small number of big projects that I want to complete and get off of my desk this year - all of which need to be done in a realistically sensible and scheduled way.

[Dragonmun Studios] Transformations...

At the time, I turned Tre's comment (photo above) into a springboard for a quick quip about my probably needing a new car, but he was spot-on. November was a huge month of transformation for me.
First was that Adobe (and Pantone), as a company, finally frustrated me enough that I ditched them.

deviantART, as a company, finally frustrated me enough that I ditched them

And Twitter's imploding.

To the first point, I switched entirely over to Affinity for graphics (I'll do a write-up ...

[Dragonmun Studios] It's last-minute, but I'm doing the thing...

Black Friday kicks off a number of small business themed sales events, that I can almost never remember, but always qualify for. To participate in all of them, everything in my shop is 30% off until the end of the month! Just use code SmallBiz22 when checking out at http://shop.dragonmun.com/
I've also gotten last-minute acceptance to vend at Avalon Aglow... which is a community block party featuring a parade, food trucks, and fireworks. It's always a little baffling that they do so much, but it'...

[Dragonmun Studios] To Tell The Truth... or Not. 😅

The paintings I did for "Fabrications: An Exhibit About Truth and Lies"

Today (Nov. 5th) is the DeLand Original Music Festival! As the name implies, it's all about supporting Florida's independent musicians and has over a hundred acts performing on… I don't actually know how many stages (the schedule can be found here). It also lightly supports Florida's other kinds of artists, which is why I'm here right now! 😁
Lesi and I set up the Dragonmun Studios art tent just outside of the Mainstage/VIP/Ar...

[Dragonmun Studios] Welcome to the 'bers!

The Sandman has been on repeat in my house since my last email. I love this adaptation!

We're out of August and into the 'bers! Pumpkin stuff has taken over everything and some of us are pretending that there's a hint of cold in the air (which is a total lie in Florida and why I'm going to go visit some mountains at some point).
Sensory Overload lived up to its name and might have traumatized me and my kid some (I'm honestly proud of the political artists that threw down hard this year! Well done!...

[Dragonmun Studios] Thank you for writing weird.

One of 5 hand-embellished, glow-in-the-dark, giclée's hanging at Sensory Overload this month.

Well, July totally didn't go as planned. Right there at the end of it, my daughter and I caught covid and I had to cancel my plans to go to Tampa Bay Comic Con. In an effort to recoup lost income, I set the online store to free shipping for the weekend, but then just fell off the effort because the virus really did a number on me.
Event-wise, I don't usually have much planned for August. It's when the run...
