She says what we had is a lapse in judgement, but I have to disagree. It’s the most sane thing I’ve ever done, and I’ll do anything to get her back underneath me, beside me, and to make her mine even if that means ruining what I’ve worked so hard to build up.

“And I didn’t like them touching me.” Reaching up, he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. His fingers lingered a little longer than was required. I wanted so badly to lean into his touch, but I fought the urge. “The whole time, I was imagining it was you.”
“That doesn’t make me feel any better,” I whispered, trying like hell to hide the hurt in my tone. Hiding what Walker was coming to mean to me was slowly killing me. I wasn’t sure how long we could last this way.
“Hey, it won’t be this way forever, and soon we’ll be able to stay in the same hotel room.”
“We’ll still have to hide it, but yeah, we should be able to stay the night with each other more than the occasional one we get now. I don’t like this sneaking around. I feel like we’re seconds away from getting caught with each passing day.”
“I know, Pen, I do, but I can’t let you go. When we weren’t together, it was like my world had become a black hole, and I don’t want to go back to that.” Ducking his head down until he was eye level with me, I was taken aback by the turmoil that was swirling in his charcoal eyes. “Tell me that’s not what you want.”
“It’s not what I want,” I whispered into the night, hoping the wind would hear the plea in my words and nothing bad would come of us.

THE ROCKER TEASER THURSDAY
“You’re an asshole.” She placed her hands on my chest and pushed. I was sure she meant to move me, but it did nothing but infuriate me further.
“I never said I wasn’t. Now tell me why you’re mad at me.” My lips brushed the shell of her ear as I tried to be quiet and not wake up the rest of the bus.
“Just let me go to sleep,” she huffed, trying to turn away from me, but I had her pinned up against the wall of the bus. Damn, maybe these tiny ass bunks were good for something.
“I’ll leave you alone if you tell me why you’re mad.” But would I really? Doubtful. I was never going to leave her alone until she relented herself to me, body, mind, and soul.
The only sound for several long moments was our breathing. I could wait all night if I had to. Just being this close to her soothed the savage beast inside of me that broke out once she ended us.

Running my hand down his side, I grip his hip. “Feeling what way? Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
“This isn’t just fucking to you, is it?” He blurts out and then quickly clamps his mouth shut.
I almost laugh until I realize that he’s serious, then just as quickly, rage blooms inside of me. How could Maddox think that? I know we had a rocky start, and while we disagree still about quite a few things, I thought I showed him that he’s more than a fuck buddy. Taking a deep breath, I don’t let it out until I rein in my emotions, which takes so long, I’m probably blue in the face. “If it were only that, I would have moved on eleven months ago. So, no,” I shake my head, my grip on his hip tightening. “This is so much more than fucking. It’s… everything.”

Turning to the TV, I turn it on and admit. “I mean, if you weren’t such an asshole, I’d do you.”
“I have heard hate sex is good.”

Maddox throws his head back and lets out a booming laugh. “Oh, my God, your face was priceless. If you think I haven’t thought of pushing you up against a wall and fucking you, you’d be wrong.”

CHANCE ENCOUNTER IS LIVE
Ever since kindergarten, I’ve hated Chance. Everything about him rubbed me the wrong way and still does.
In high school, he was always trying to one-up me either in class or out on the ice. Much to his disappointment, I was always the winner.
The competition between us was fierce, and even though we’d been out of school for over a decade, Chance Reed was still always trying to one-up me.
Today he finally got his wish. The man I hate with a passion saved me, and now I owe him and he’ll never let me forget it.
What was once hatred has turned into an attraction I’m not sure I can deny, not now that he’s got me right where he’s always wanted me.

“Strangely no. I hate to be a broken record, but can you take me home?”
He lightly chuckles. “Let’s get you home before you file kidnapping charges. Although, if I keep you long enough, maybe you’ll get Stockholm Syndrome and start to like me.”
“How about I promise to like you more once I’m home and in my own bed?”
Chance’s eyes flare. “Is that an invitation to join you in your bed?”
