The Perils of DIY
There are activities worth pursuing as DIY (do it yourself) projects.
For instance, I get a lot of joy out of preparing meals for my family. Sure, I might check out a recipe online or a YouTube video if it's a dish I never made before, but I find fulfillment in the hands on experience of doing it myself.
I feel the same way about landscaping or creating a quote image for social media, and innumerable other activities. I bet you do too. These are hobbies, activities engaged in for their own sake and our own enjoyment, endeavors that I dabble in.
But when you need a haircut, or dental work, or a car repair, do you simply watch a video or read an article and then give it a go? My guess is, no; you hire someone with training and whom you trust to ensure it's done right.
