Snippet Saturday – Scarlet #1

Whee! Here’s to my first ever Snippet Saturday. Just a tiny bit from my upcoming release, Alpha Marked: Scarlet. It’s fairly unedited, so forgive me for typos and WTF-Grammar issues.

“Quit being rational and logical.” Her sister snapped. “I’m too busy for this, Scarlet. You need to do something about this. Go…do what you do.” She imagined Gabby waving her hands around, fingers fluttering, and she smiled. Her sister in a tizzy was something to watch.

Her mongrel cat Burger came sneaking over and twined around her ankles. While listening to her sister rant and rave at the injustice of their summoning, she fed her sweet boy. Scraping out the rest of his organic, homemade cat food, she stood and placed the empty container in the sink. She’d have to make him more food for the pet sitter before she flew out to the Gathering. Mentally, she ticked through the contents of her freezer. He tended to like the shrimp and salmon more than—

“Are you even listening to me?” Gabby’s screech nearly blew her eardrum.

“Not really.” She stared down at Burger. “Do you think I’ll have to get rid of my cat?”

Alpha Marked: Scarlet is the first in the Alpha Marked trilogy that’s set to begin releasing in April. Gabrielle (book #2) is set for June and then Whitney (#3) to release in August.

Writing Plans!

Heya peeps!

So, I’ve gotten a few emails on ze writing plans and here it is!

Currently: Cuffed, #3 in the Knots series. I’m wrapping up ze sexin’ and it’ll be off to editor(s) soon.

Next Up: Hard Knocks, #6 in the Ridgeville series.  I’m about 13,000 words into his story right now. The last book was 40,000 words, so I’m about 1/3 through it.  I know y’all want to gobble up novels, but these guys seem to like to get down to bidness before I can blink.

And AFTER those, in writing order:

Poking the Vamp (working title), #3 in the Knight Protectors series

Gabrielle, #2 in the Alpha Marked series

Wyatt’s story, #7 in the Ridgeville series

Whitney, #3 (and final book-unless y’all want it more than chocolate cake) in the Alpha Marked series

Obviously, if one of the characters gives me a hard time *cough* like Harding *cough* this may wiggle a bit, but that’s the plan for the next few months.  I do have a super sekrit book coming in May that I’m hoping y’all will enjoy. (A hunky werewolf, a witchy mate and ebil vamps.)  I believe Cuffed will also be out in May and I’m a little unsure about Hard Knocks.  The awesomesauce Gwen Hayes of Fresh Eyes Critiques will be bouncing a few ideas around so that Harding will shape up for me.

Alpha Marked:Scarlet, Hard Knocks & Vampage!

Heya peeps!

It’s been a bit since I had an update, so here it goes:

Alpha Marked: Scarlet is jogging through edits and is on track for an early April release. It’s got two verra hunky werewolves looking for their perfect mate to share.  No crossing swords, but lotsa hot smexin’ where they share Scarlet along with a little fightin’ action.  It’s the first installment in a trilogy featuring the Wickham sisters. Ze plan is to release another in June and the final installment in August.

Hard Knocks (working title) is the next in the Ridgeville series and features Harding and his human mate, Tess.  They’ve each got their own issues, but in the end, love (and totally hot sex) conquers all.  Cheesy line, right?  But SO true. I’m shooting for a May release for Harding.

I’ve received a few emails about the next Knight Protectors and, rest assured, it’s on the list of soon-to-be written books.  March is for writing Hard Knocks and April is set aside for some vampage and the next Alpha Marked (Gabriella).  So, rest assured, fangs are cooommmiiinnnggg.

Another book in the back of my mind is the next Knots. It’s lingering and poking at me, but the idea hasn’t settled quite yet.  The characters just aren’t speaking my language just yet.  ;)

Plus! I’ve got a super sekrit wolfy/witchy book coming in May that you’re gonna lurve. It’, you know, super sekrit so I can’t tell you anything else, but it is awesome. Promise.

Deuces Wild & Alpha Marked-Scarlet & Knight Protectors Update

Heya peeps!

So, Deuces Wild (Ridgeville #5) is currently in edits and I’m planning on releasing the book around 3/7/13.  Whee!  The plan is to work on Harding’s story in March and release his (currently untitled) book in May.  After that, there’s definitely fun for Wyatt.  From there, I’m up in the air.  I know some of you have asked for Grayson and Honor’s story, and I have a strong feeling I’ll let them have their happily ever after sometime around Christmas.  The holidays seem the perfect time for them to get their love on.  Once those guys are settled and happy, we’ll have to see who you guys are jonesing for next.

I do have a new trilogy I’ve started that’s got me super excited.  Alpha Marked is a quick series about the Wickham sisters, Scarlet, Gabriella and Whitney and how they find happiness with their Alpha wolves.  Yup, plural.  It seems our Marked ladies can only mate with two Alpha werewolves. Yummy.  But those of you who aren’t keen on guys crossing swords, rest assured that smexy contact happens only with the guys and their mate.  No manlove in this set.

And vamp lovers, don’t fret, I am working out the next in the Knight Protectors series.  Joce needs to have his head knocked around and I think I’ve found just the woman for the job.  ;)

Deuces Wild is Done!

Heya peeps!

Well, I typed “The End” on Deuces Wild, the fifth book in the Ridgeville series.  It’s currently at 35,000 words or 146 pages.  I imagine that it’ll end up longer by the time it’s done with edits.  Look for it in the beginning of March!

Big Bad Vamp & Works in Progress

Hellooooo there!

Well, Big Bad Vamp is finally out in the Big Bad World. Yay!  Now that I’ve released that novella, it’s on to the next few books.  Right now (this very minute) I’m working on a short novella (15,000 words or so) and then it’s on to the next Ridgeville (Deuces Wild).  Deuce and I are in a little tug of war at the moment.  He doesn’t want to follow where I’m leading and I’m making him confront his past.  I’ve never known a guy who was more afraid of his memories than taking a bullet in the shoulder.  *shakes head*  He’s an emotional pansy who drinks light beer.

Or does he?

Mwahahahaha…

See, Jana Downs has this series of guardian angel (His Guardian Angels) books that feature some hot wing wearers and the half-angel guy who hooks up with them.  Now, it’s not all smexin’ and bouncing springs.  There’s some awesome action and conflict between lovers that all add up to a great novella (Angel Bound) that rocks my socks.

Now, I gotta go snag the others.  Don’t wait up.

Writing, Writing, Writing

Hey, guess what this post is about? Writing!

I’m about 15,000 words into Big Bad Vamp and I still have a bit to go. I’m close-ish to the end though! Promise!  With luck, I’ll have it finished and ready for my editor come Sunday. Whee!

So, we’re looking at an early January release for that one. *fingers crossed*

THEN, I’m not sure what I’m working on… I’m leaning toward Deuce’s story, though.  Or a fun, quick shortie just because it’ll make me giggle. Hehe.

Otherwise, I’m looking forward to the holidays and lotsa good food.

Friday Reads – The Marann

It’s been a bit since I’ve rolled out a Friday read, but this one is so tres awesome, I had to post about it.

First, ze blurbage recap. Please note, it probably doesn’t sound insanely like the actual blurb since I didn’t write that one. I wrote this one. The author will probably have heart palpitations if she ever rolls into my neck of the woods…

So, there’s this Spanish teacher (Marianne, not like Carol Anne. No ghosts).  She’s happily teaching in butt-fruck-Egypt. Rockin’ her Spanish students and living a fairly boring, but safe, life. Woo hoo for her.  But THEN, the brains with the planet-wide government decide super-language-knowing Marianne needs to get shoved into space to teach some super-alien-ruler-guy’s kidlet for the next twenty six years.  The gov peeps are asshats and off she goes.  But she’s got man issues and now they’re forcing her to be all nicey-nice with the leader of this massive planet.  Kill. Her. Now.

Now, the alien ruler hottie, the Sural, is, well…a hottie. And super secretive, but he has reason to be. He’s also super deadly, but he’s diggin’ on Marianne, so it’s all good.  And, dude, they’ve got YEARS to get to know each other, so he totally has time to break down her man-hatin’ walls and lay down his suave moves.

Now, my review.  Um, it rocked.  I love me some scifi space romances and this one hit the spot.  There’s plot, intrigue and secrets that are revealed in delicate layers.  All of it is wrapped up in awesomesauce writing.  The author has announced a tentative released date of January for book two and I’m SO totally there. Like, first in live with my credit card and reading the book in one night, there.

Anyway. Buy it. Love it. Come back and say “OMG you were right!”.  Because, well, I am.  Not that I’m conceited or anything.
