Yikes. Some good advice, tainted with some bad ego.

First, the good advice:
- don't write chronologically. If a scene comes to you, write it. If you realize there's a plot hole, go back and fix it. etc. When you have a revelation about a scene, don't w

Boy oh boy do I have mixed feelings on this book.

What I liked:
- King clearly did a TON of research for this book and it shows. He could have written a book of cliches but instead he said "your cliches are wrong" and I loved it.
- Because of that resea

Whitney Thank you so much for accepting my friend request! I enjoy your booktube videos and was glad to see someone who often talks about Fantasy books, which is one of my favorite genres, as well :)

Cheshire I saw the Dear Authors tag on youtube. Completely agree about the friendship tag. I think a lot of what people say is true. And one particular trend that is happening, is bad ass heroine turns mary sue. (Make it stop)

Christian Merriner I remember you mentioned a website you use for book clubs and buddy reads but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. Could you please help me?!

Brian Quinn Thanks for accepting. Love your YouTube videos.

I would recommend the Skulduggery Pleasant series. I'm not sure how available they are in the states. There a children series but they grow as the main character. Their like my version of harry potter.

Also thanks again and for all the book suggestions :)

Cody Wayne Thanks for accepting the friends request. I recently started my Harry Potter series re-read and stumbled across your reviews. I love your content and through your videos also discovered Daniel Greene and Elliot Brooks. I'm currently on the 5th HP book but am taking a break to check out a series my wife recommended and to complete the Star Wars Aftermath trilogy I started over 4 years ago. Due to all your recommendations I feel completely overwhelmed and wish I would have been an avid reader for the last several years. I have A LOT of catching up to do.
Hopefully in the new year I'll have finished my HP re-read and can dive into the Mistborn series.

Glenn тнєgєєкунιρριє™ Thanks for the add Merphy, been a fan since discovering your channel thanks to Daniel Greene's visit to your place a few months back (been subscribed to him for a while now). I initially started watching for your WHEEL OF TIME reviews, but I've stuck around because I love hearing your thoughts on all the other stuff you read, even outside my typical genres of SF and Fantasy.

Really happy you're enjoying Isaac Asimov, he was one of my childhood favorites (I was reading well beyond my age back then, and really should go back and reread all that stuff at some point) and to this day still holds a special place in my heart. And besides, it is good to see some Science Fiction getting some love, because Fantasy seems to be the predominant genre amongst the booktubers I've encounters so far (which admittedly isn't that many, but still). I love the two genres equally, and bounce back and forth between the two all the time in my reading (and even writing, although technically with my writing it is all the same world, just different settings and time periods within my world/universe).

I hope when you eventually finish Asmiov's Science Fiction (it will take you years to finish ALL of his writings, he was seriously prolific in so many genres and fields of study) that your next Classic SF writer you pick is Arthur C Clarke, as i think he's the next best. I do love Robert A Heinlein (especially A STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND), but he is pretty controversial, and isn't to everyone's taste. Those three though are basically The Greats, and it is no coincidence that they are amongst the fist eight Grand Masters of Science Fiction, according to the SFWA, Heinlein being the first).

I've been reading these two genres almost forty years now, so if you ever need a good book suggestion that isn't a newer release, just ask.

Destini Thanks so much for accepting! :)

Abitha Wingfeather Hi! Thank you so much for accepting my friend request! I love your booktube channel, and am so grateful for all the work you put into it. :-)

I wanted to recommend a fantasy series called the Wingfeather Saga to you, which you have probably never heard of because it's very underrated. It's a YA high fantasy about three siblings with a past that is mysterious to them; their mother and grandfather seem to be hiding things. Their world has been overtaken by "a nameless evil named Gnag the Nameless" (Just so you know, these books have a very interesting sense of humor which I love, but you should go into the books knowing it's slightly odd. And awesome, in my opinion). They live in constant fear of capture by the fangs, (humanoid snake-like creatures), or the black carriage, which takes people off in the middle but their lives are rather uneventful until one day when the protagonist, Janner, loses his little sister at the Dragon Day Festival. I really can't say much else because it would completely spoil the whole first book, but it is a really good series. The books are very whimsical, but also heart-tugging and sincere. The author is Andrew Peterson, should you be interested in reading them. :)

Susana Hi!

Love your book channel and recs!

Recommending you " A Rose Garden" and a " Hazel Wood"!

Jacqueline Hi Merphy, so I started reading this manga called I Hear the Sunspot by Yuki Fumino and so far am really loving it. I would just like to recommend it to you, because I remember from your videos that you like books with deaf representation.
Happy Reading :)
