Ever After mass market audio

AmazonEAGot something kind of fun this morning. While double checking the low Amazon mass market price (pre-order) I found they have put a button in to listen to the audio–and promptly lost a good five minutes listening to Ms. Gavin. I really like how she reads Rachel.  A lot. And yes, that bonus feature mentioned on the cover will be that Sony short between Rachel and Trent. :-)

So if you want to take a listen, (or pre-order EVER AFTER mass market) pop on over. It’s hard to beat 4.79 for a book.  [EVER AFTER READING]

To read, and not re-read. That’s the question

And wow, did you guys answer! It looks as though it’s split fairly evenly between re-readers and non re-readers if you take into account my facebook responders, and though not all you re-readers do so every year, it looks as if you do at least once or twice. Cool.

Thanks Guys! This is exactly what I needed to know.

(Thinking . . . thinking . . . )

Had a great weekend moving plants around in my yard. A tree went down a few years ago, and what was once shade gets a lot more sun. The hosta were getting sunburned, so I finally moved them. They look pretty good, but it prompted me to water the entire back yard. I can’t believe the soil is so dry after those three inches of rain last week.

And I knitted, deciding the pattern I’m working from kind of doesn’t cut it. Critter is too big. I’ve been doing pretty well adapting it to half size until yesterday when I got to the fingers–which are coming out too big even half size. So I’m starting over, scrapping the crochet pattern and going to try to knit one instead, which has more tricks for tiny pieces. So far, I’ve managed toes, nails, and fingers. It’s going to be a long project.

Do you, or don’t you?

I’m curious how many of you re-read entire series when the latest book is due to come out. The Hollows, or any other. Really, I want to know.

Harry’s Smiling big today!

Okay, I’m laughing, but it was a real thrill to go into the exhibit building last night and see my little Harry, the Hibernating Hedgehog had not only won a fist place in its a category, but also a big honking champion ribbon. :-) I am shocked, I really am.

Fair2013

He is a Allen Dart pattern if you knit, and I added the book in his hand and sleeping cap tucked under his arm (off pattern), because no self-respecting rodent would go down for the winter without a good book.

I’m on Ravelry [Kim on Ravelry] if you want to see some of the other stuff I’ve done over the last year or so, or I’ve got a board on Pinterest. [Kim on Pinterest]

ODWhcCoverISAlso, the 2.99 sale of OUTLAW DEMON WAILS courtesy of Apple’s 5-star review promotion, has been picked up by most of the other electronic platforms, so if you’re looking to round out your library, this is an easy way to do it. I’m going to send you to the Harper site only because they have all the direct links to i-books, Kindle, Kobo, BAM, and Nook all on one page. OUTLAW DEMON WAILS SALE

Outlaw Demon Wails e-book special

ODWhcCoverISApple is having a promotion for their 5 star average review books, which means THE OUTLAW DEMON WAILS is available for a special price of 2.99 until Monday.

I like Apple promotions because their books can be read on just about anything. So if you’re interested, jump on over and pick it up for yourself to round out your e-library, or a gift to someone else to get them hooked on the Hollows. THE OUTLAW DEMON WAILS is one of my favorites, and not bad for an introduction to Rachel, Ivy, Jenks, and the gang. :-)

And feel free to pass it on! Share the love!

Fair week!

It’s fair week! And I’ve got two entries this year in the Green Barn exhibits. Too much fun. I can’t wait to see how they do. The last time, I got second place for my knitted daises, so here’s hoping. Guy likes the chickens, and I like the games, but we stretch it out to last all week.

This weekend was busy with me painting my closet, (we have remodeling work that needed a hole cut in it to check out the pluming run from upstairs to down) spackling a few spots around the house to repaint since I had my paint box up and out of the basement, and Guy and I tore into ripping apart a cushion so I can recover it. It has springs, which I’ve only worked with once, and the frame was busted, which meant a trip to the lumber store, but it’s back together and ready to cover over the next couple of weeks when I get an hour or two at a time. When finished, it’s going into that new room we’re remodeling–the one I had to fix my closet for.

So you can imagine I’m ready to sit and move nothing but my fingers for a while. Phew!

Wow. Can I just say, wow.

ITWI had a whopping 700+ entries in just over 24 hours for the INTO THE WOODS, give away, which just came out in mass market, by the way, which is why I had these five electronic copies to give away.

I closed the thread down just after noon, and everyone who was stuck in approval purgatory has been accepted and is in the running. I Binged up a random number generator to choose the winners, and have sent out an email to the lucky five. If I don’t hear from them in a week at the address they entered with, I will be sticking the e-copies back in my bag of goodies for another list, but the winners are:

Linda Pardue

Steph F

Kgassner

Lisa Kay Argo

Charlene Brasuell

There should be something in you inbox this very moment. -grin-

PS. This is my 1000 post here on WordPress. Not bad! Not bad at all. Thanks for sticking with me, guys!

e-book give away-Five by Friday!

I’ve got five electronic copies of INTO THE WOODS to give away to US residents from today to tomorrow! To enter, just tell me here at the drama box by noon, EST Friday, which of the Hollows titles is your favorite, and why.

HollowsMontage

Guy and I will randomly choose five on Friday as the winners and send you an email with the code to redeem for your electronic copy of INTO THE WOODS, so post your answer here using the email you want to be notified on. If I don’t hear back from you in a week, it goes back into my bag of goodies and will not be awarded.

If you’ve never posted before, there will be a lag of one to four hours before your post will show up ’cause I’m the one approving new users, and contrary to some of your thinking, I DO spend time off-line actually writing this stuff. -grin-

So again, to enter, tell me here which of the Hollows titles is your favorite, and why. Entries at FB are nice, but will not be in the running. And you can only have one favorite, so please enter only once. On  your honor.

I’m sorry, the codes I have are only good within the US.

Hollows full-color world guide in new formats

It’s big, it’s beautiful, it has its own story line, and it’s the most gorgeous expression of my love affair with the Hollows that I’ve worked on, and believe me, I worked on it, messed around, tweaked, played, and generally invented myself into a corner, hoping my editor would go for it when I finally turned it in, never telling her what I did. I was terrified, and I bit my nails to the quick for six months as it slowly evolved to include the pictures (some of which you provided) then two-color, then four-color, then glossy, and finally, a glow in the dark cover as the art team at Harper took all my messy ideas and made them reality.

HollowsInsider

I’ve been telling people that it was only the first edition (the hardcovers) that will have the glow in the dark slipcover, but my editor did it again, and even the mass market, which comes out today, will glow. I am so excited, and I hope some of you who don’t like world books will take a look at it. It is not your everyman’s world guide. This is truly a collector’s gem.

I have a few interior shots at the website, and the story of how some of the readers provided the newspaper articles. [Here]

I think you can still hunt around and find the hard cover, but the mass market just came out, and there’s even a Nook and Kindle version coming soon.
