How to Effectively Use Visualization to Achieve Your Goals

Millions of people have tried the “Law Of Attraction” (popularized by “The Secret”) ... and no matter how hard they try, they don’t manifest those millions of dollars they envisioned.

If they go into debt to buy that fancy house or car, they usually regret the debt. Or that so-called “perfect” relationship they visualized, doesn’t end up working out.

Visualization is ineffective -- even detrimental -- when used only to imagine the ideal outcome.Instead, what if we use visualization to strengthen ...

Soulpreneurs: Visualize your Process (more than your Goals!)

Millions of people have tried “manifesting” with the Law of Attraction. They imagine themselves holding piles of money… sitting in a fancy house… or driving the perfect car.

Then, after months or years of picturing these dream scenarios, many still find themselves disappointed: Where are those millions of dollars? Where’s that dream job or perfect relationship?

In some cases, outcome-focused visualization even leads to debt, stress over “not manifesting,” and a cycle of self-blame and frustrat...

Why every authentic business should have its own framework

Next week I re-launch my course on Creating Your Framework.

In this blog post I’ll discuss why I think it’s important for every authentic business to have its own framework.

First of all, here are some examples of frameworks, and what type they are:Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (pyramid)

Updated Hierarchy of Needs (sailboat!)

The Work of Byron Katie (linear)

The 5 Love Languages (archetypal)

The Wheel of Life (pie)

Eisenhower Matrix (grid)

Authentic Business Model (concentric circles) … by yours truly :)...

True Productivity for Self-Employed Professionals

What are the most productive actions in your business?

Checking off more items on your to-do list? Working longer hours? Getting another certification? Trying to make your website better?

Many such actions feel productive but don’t actually build your business. Besides having a "to do" list, you may want to define a TO-DROP list as well.Otherwise you might be doing busy work that feels like movement, but isn't really helping you grow your client base or make more impact.

Here is how I define "tru...

How to Be a Truly Productive Soulpreneur

Your days filled with activity. But is it the right activity for your business?

Consider common tasks: Endlessly researching the next blog post… trying to perfect your website… searching for the “perfect” software?

These actions feel productive. Yet, they frequently don’t build your business in meaningful ways…

You have limited time. Another month might pass without real growth towards a sustainable income, if you aren’t careful with how you invest your time each day.

This is why, alongside ...

Separate Your Content Production from Your Research Time

One up of the hangups a lot of us have — especially if we care about accuracy or fear being judged — is to  not  post content because we haven’t yet done  enough  research.
This is a trap, because for any topic, there will always be more research to do. It’s endless.

How then do we create content consistently, while respecting the need to do research? My main recommendation for you is to be clear about separating your content production time from your research time.

Content production is the time you s...

How (not) to Introduce 2 People

Youre a connector and love introducing people to each other. It can be a wonderful (sometimes career-changing) effect when its the right match!

Yet, when its the wrong match unfortunately much of the time by being the connector, you just added a burden to them. Now theyre in an awkward position youve forced them into, where one person, if they dont want to connect, will come across as unfriendly or unapproachable.Still, the benefits are big enough that its worth learning to do this well. You...

The Tao of Authentic Business

Im about to launch a podcast. My audience suggested the playful name of Business Tao with George Kao.

Some were concerned that the podcast name might be cultural/religious appropriation. (Nevermind that Im Chinese, and can pronounce Tao te Ching more accurately than most Western Taoist scholars, and that Taoism is characteristically unattached from definitions and who gets credit for what)

Still, the question inspired me to dive back into studying Taoist philosophical principles. In this post,...

Maybe you only need a One Page Website...

What if you only need a 1 page website? When you’re still aiming to get your first 50 (or 100) clients, maybe all you need is a one-page website. Truly.

Most of your clients are going to come from word-of-mouth anyway. So why are you working so hard to build a fancy website that takes you more than a few hours to do?

Let me share with you an example of a one-page website that I just came across…https://www.siobhangannon.com

If by the time you’re reading this, she’s made it fancier, I’ve made a video showing you her one-page website and w...

Authentic Business: $4K in just 8 hours per week?

PictureA client asked me to write up a roadmap to a kind of “four-hour workweek” for authentic business…

The best I can come up with is an 8-hour workweek. It’s more realistic, yet still minimal. Imagine: just 2 hours of work, 4 days a week. Quite a luxury, especially in these economic times!

Of course, it all depends on how much income you’re aiming for, and your current stage of business.Let’s say you’d like to earn $4,000/month working just 8 hours per week.
(This is a true privilege, compared to the...
