[image error]Passion. This is the word used to describe this woman. Yes, she’s sassy, intelligent, independent, feisty, and charismatic… but with everything she does, she brings this unwavering passion. From a simple conversation to igniting her students, from her photography to her spoken word, from her writing from stage to the screen… everything about her exudes a fiery passion that drives her to complete the visions that are gifted to her. Dreams and Their Silent Applause

Today is a rainy day, and I have retreated to my writing corner with my laptop, cozy blanket and — if I am really industrious — I may even add some peppermint tea to the mix. I like days like today, when I can stay wrapped up in my thoughts without many distractions. These are also the days when my brain does as it chooses and I end up writing what I feel, as I feel it [without filters].

Lately, my main thoughts have been those of Dreams and Their Silent Applause. And no that is not the name...

Climbing into your Future while acknowledging your Past

I have pondered and pondered on what I would write about for 2018’s first blog post. I considered writing something real deep, bearing in mind all of the highs and lows of 2017. I considered something upbeat as a compass to where I would like 2018 to follow. Guess what? No matter how much I tried, the words in my head refused to behave and decided to come out the way they wanted to — with no real considerations to my feelings or my game plan. Life has been like that… it does what it wants whe...

Serve the Turkey & Not the Kids

Let’s run through your check list: tablespace is set; house is tidy; shopping list… yup you got the last can of cranberry sauce [no one will know that it is store bought if you put it in that new serving bowl and add some fresh cranberries to the corners]; turkey is already baking in the oven; the holiday music is playing in the living room; and the aroma of stuffing, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, and macaroni pie/mac & cheese has the whole house smelling like gravy, calories and broken scal...

The Vision before the Vision Board

I have always enjoyed playing with words, even if it was just a way to allow my brain the opportunity to release the bouncing words held inside — thus, making enough room for the next day’s bouncers. Most people didn’t even notice that I wrote, as I kept it to myself either due to insecure […]

Fall-ing into Place

It is time to Change! It is time to Evolve! It is time to Transform! What you did yesterday is barely working for you today. So how the heck do you think that it is going to work for tomorrow. Life itself is a huge ball of constant movement; there is always going to be change. Refusing to evolve, transform and to allow growth is the same as shouting out to the universe that a tree is smarter than you and has more purpose than you do. Now remember, I love nature and the beauty of trees. But I...

What do you do with your Broken Pieces?

What do you do with your broken pieces? What do you do when things have not gone the way you planned or expected them to and all you are left with are the pieces of your dreams and your expectations? What do you do with the pieces that haunt and hurt you as those around you hold them over you like ghosts to your loss of possibilities? What do you do?

How much time do you spend in your Dark Room?

At the end of your life, when the mind flashes back to the moments/pictures that reflect your journey, what is your film roll going to show? Are the visions of your life going to be blurred out because you over processed the opinions of others and did not follow the slow process of developing your gifts and talents? Are you going to rush to expose yourself and use up all of your opportunities before you are prepared and ready for where they may lead you?

Prayer…..Forgiveness…… Oh the Defecation that we have done…Part 1 of 2

I have always believed that words were powerful and that they could bend the universe. But why had I chosen to tell the universe to come at me like a wrecking ball night after night, year after year… was it madness… self-sabotage… or maybe I, just like many others, had been reciting words without fully grasping the meaning of the words.
