From Chick Lit Cafe!

Hell Hath No Fury by Annabelle Anders (Goodreads Author) ChickLit Cafe's review Sep 14, 2017it was amazingA beautiful regency romance story. “Hell Hath No Fury” By Annabelle Anders is a great unpredictable historical romance fictional tale. Cecily, the main character, married a rotten cheating Earl. She thought he was the love of her life only to find out on her wedding night that he only married her for her dowry and that he was in love with someone else. Cecily, devastated devises a plan to seduce her husband's cousin in an attempt for revenge. But as time progresses she finds that Stephen, her husband’s cousin, is the opposite of her awful husband, the count. Stephen is honorable and handsome. What follows is a roller coaster of emotions, fights and love. I thoroughly enjoyed this well written story of love, betrayal and happily ever after. Readers are immediately placed amidst the scene of this period piece. The descriptions of the surroundings are vivid and enticing. The author, Annabelle Anders, has a way with words and describes the setting and characters in such a way that it moves the reader’s imaginary senses. She writes with much detail and forethought. I was captivated by the plot right from the beginning. It is filled with danger, love, and intrigue. I couldn’t put it down and turned the pages quickly to find out what would happen next. This is a fresh and unique work of regency fiction. I think all readers will appreciate and revel in this book. I am looking forward to reading more books by author Annabelle Anders. She has real creative talent and great writing skills. I fully recommend “Hell Hath No Fury.” It is excellent!” Reviewed By Chick Lit Cafe www.chicklitcafe.com

I promise to always give you a HEA!

If you read romance, than like me, you are a sucker for the HEA. In this blog, I am going to list some of the LEAST and MOST satisfying endings I’ve ever watched or read. Take note that as I’m discussing ENDINGS… I may or may not be spoiling the story for you.LEAST:Cloud Nine by Luanne Rice. The character is fighting a terminal disease. You think she beats it. She deals with the ups and downs of how it affected her life and actually manages to fall into epic love with a super Hot pilot. They work through all of their issues and set the date. Planning, happy, warm fuzzy feelings. She DIES AT THE ALTAR!Seinfeld. The series ends with them all sitting in jail. I mean REALLY??? HATED THAT ONE!My Fair Lady. All of this cleaning her up, teaching her to be special, singing and dancing… and like WTH? Do Eliza and Professor Higgins hook up or what???The fact that Bridget Jone’s Diary didn’t just end at the first one does NOT set well with me. I mean, seriously? I DID watch the second one but I have not been able to bring myself to watch the baby one… I mean… THAT WAS NOT a HEA if they have so many difficulties… Let me know if you think I should watch the third one. (Only if she ends up with Darcy).MOSTSlightly Dangerous by Mary Balogh… One of the rare series where the last story is the best! It's like every book in that series built towards this amazing ending. Not only is it one of the best HEA EVERS, but she then goes on to write her Simply Series and you get to touch bases with all of the wonderful characters again. Pride and Prejudice… Of Course! Not only does everybody end up with their crush, but Lydia is stuck with Wickham! LOL And oh, yeah, the new hubbies are loaded. What could be better?North and South… The BBC Version…. Okay, but tension for that kiss was building for like, 5 hours! The only thing that would have made this better would have been a bit of an epilogue… cute kids, established prosperity… etc…. but It was pretty perfect.Pretty much every Romance Novel ever Written…. as long as I get my HEA... Oh, and I loved GREASE LOLHELL HATH NO FURY... Goes without saying. But just wait till you see what I've got lined up for NEXT YEAR!!!! SO WHAT brought this on?I watched all nine fricken seasons of How I Met Your Mother, finally came to terms that Ted was not going to end up with Robin… Okay. And I just loved the lady that was selected to be the mother… and then they kill her off???? And Robin and Barney divorce after like 3 years (although that one was a stretch from the beginning) and then Ted finally asks Robin out? But the beautiful mother is dead. DEAD! I don’t like having my emotions ripped out of me so much. I mean, it DID surprise me, and kudos to them for that… but Damnit!I WANT MY HAPPY ENDING! Don't you?

Edits and Rewrites

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT! For Hell Hath No Fury…Necessary evils one must co-exist with as a writer.Except that, sometimes, it’s during those excruciating rewrites and edits, that characters and plots gain the dimension and depth that cause them to be intriguing to the reader. While executing what was supposed to be the last edit on HELL HATH NO FURY, I thought something was missing from the Snake incident… like. I mean, why an adder? I don’t know a great deal about snakes, but even I KNEW that the adder would most likely NOT kill a person… So, WHY DID I make the snake an adder? Well, so that it would not actually KILL Cecily when it bit her, right? But the attempted murderer WANTED to KILL Cecily… so why did THEY choose to put an adder in her bed?AHA! The person who CHOSE the Adder, the person assigned to procure a snake for the deed didn’t really WANT for Cecily to DIE! All of this came to me in the FINAL EDIT! LOL… BTW, my editor made me do one more run through after that… I’d added so many little rewrites…Anyhow, I think that those last minute changes put the cherry on top for that character. It made him more interesting, more like how people REALLY are.So, even though I whine and cry and complain about editing and rewrites… They always bring the book up another notch… And that is ALWAYS a good thing.Hope I haven’t spoiled anything for any of you!Happy Reading!Hell Hath No FuryGoodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... Cover Antics

NOTE: To see photos to go with this post Go to

COVER ANTICS!

Hell Hath No Fury is the first of my books to be published and so I wanted to share a bit of the process with my FACEBOOK family, friends and readers!

Aside from receiving an offer from a publisher, one of the most exciting steps in the publishing process is designing the cover!

Lucky me!

I got to work with amazing graphic/cover artist, Jena Brignola - you may not realize it, but her artwork can be found on books everywhere. She was sweet and fun and sooooo easy to work with!

Not to disillusion you all, but we did NOT audition models and then contract a spectacular photo shoot… Instead, the first step was to select an image from a stock photo website… which, I’ll admit, was pretty stressful in itself. Stressful, you ask? Absolutely! This was going to be the face of my BABY! LOL

So you have all seen my finished cover, right? I wanted Cecily to be in the water, wet, in an elegant dress… (taken from one of the scenes in the story). But instead of the actual scene in the story, I wanted her to be with Stephen… a swoon worthy and gorgeous gentleman!

I must say, there are not many images on stock websites that meet this criteria.

I came across an image, though, with a girl, looking fiesta and more than a little satisfied with herself, as she embraced the man of her dreams.

Except she was a bride and the photo had a decidedly modern look to it.

So, Jena worked a little magic, changed the dress to red, and played with a few other details to achieve a more timeless image.

Still, though, Nate (Blue Tulip Editor in Chief) and Rachel Van Dyken (world famous Romance Novelista) thought the image wasn’t “Regency” enough.

They had a point.

Jena added puffed sleeves to Cecily’s dress and played with the colors.

It was perfect.

I know it doesn’t look like a traditional regency romance novel, but the story itself is just a tad different than most… it has some comedy, and a delicious twist on karma and betrayal…so… yes, a little different, but to me… it was perfect.

I hope you like the cover… it really is something from my own imagination, created and improved upon by a few experts. But even more importantly, I hope you LOVE the book! Happy Reading!

An Accidental Book: Hell Hath No Fury

An Accidental Book :)

Hell Hath No Fury was never meant to become a book, let alone a series. I'd been struggling with the first chapters of my books... inserting too much back story, and I decided to play with the idea of writing an intriguing first chapter – not worrying about the rest of the book at all.

So I sat down and just let my juices start flowing... Hmmm.. A girl, of course, how about a girl who is drinking too much? I've never read a regency that started out that way. And how about I make her angry? Very Angry! Why is she angry? Well, she's been betrayed! By who? And the story just kind of rolled along from there.

It only took me three weeks to write the rest of the book. (My other books have all taken about 6 weeks.) It was weird how the story just developed on it's own...

I wrote the book in the summer of 2015. The agent I was attempting to land read through it and said she loved it but not enough to try to sell it... I later learned she'd basically stopped taking on new romance authors. At this point I still don't have an agent and I'm not sure I'll go after one... I'm learning so much about publishing right now!

I wrote the second book in this series last December (2016) and am prepping it to send in to Blue Tulip Publishing as we speak. It's present title is Hell in a Hand

basket. It is Sophia's story.

Harold is not all that he seems and Sophia has a rocky road ahead! I can't wait to begin working on the cover and hopefully this will release around Thanksgiving sometime! Meanwhile, I'll keep all of you posted as to all that I'm up to! Thanks for reading! Ya gotta love a happy ending, right?

Remember those old Harlequins from the 70's and 80's? Where would I be without them?

I remember when I was a teenager, reading Harlequin Romances. I loved them and yet, I was always left feeling oddly dissatisfied. The heroines seemed powerless and the heroes lacked emotion. Authors seemed to thrive on writing heroes who were arrogant, strong, and silent. When they weren't being silent, they were throwing accusations at the poor heroine, or insults...Amazing I loved romance so much back then. When I went away to college, I didn't read much anymore... too busy searching for life, I guess. And then I gave birth to my daughter in 1991, another in 1993 and my son in 1995. I had no time to read after that for years! As they grew up and went to school, somewhere along the line I picked up a Jennifer Cruise (contemporary romance) and became an instant fan. Not only did her gals have tons and tons of spunk, but her heroes showed emotions! And the book jumped Point of Views now and then so we could "hear" what both characters were thinking.I was hooked on romance all over again. But contemporary... only contemporary.Until my mom sent me a Mary Balogh novel. Dang, that woman can write! She'd manage to write female characters, in oppressive settings and give them all kinds of spunk and intelligence. And her males... (sigh) swoon worthy... oh, so swoon worthy! I will forever dream of Beowulf from Slightly Dangerous...She even did that Point of View thing... where I could peak at into both character's heads. After devouring all of Mary's books, I moved on to Sarah McLean, Julia Quinn, Maya Rodale and other great historical authors. And something grew inside of me. I'd lay in the bathtub... my thinking place to this day... and dream up my own stories...That's how I began writing... I hope I can provide even half the enjoyment these great authors have provided me. And you can trust that my gals will have spunk and my men will have feelings. And third person, cause I love knowing both sides of a great romance! And hopefully you'll catch a little bit of the fun I loved about Jennifer Cruise's books. Happy Reading!

3 Weeks Until Release

It seems like I've waited a lifetime for this! No, really, I'm not exaggerating. It all started by sitting down and writing a single word, a page, a chapter. And then I finished one book and wrote another–and another.

Hell Hath No Fury is the 4th book I've written. Since then, I've written 3 more. Each book is like a garden. I go back to them over and over again to clean and prune, maybe plant something new. In my mind, perhaps, they are never really complete.

And now (well, in 3 weeks) my baby is all grown up and going out into the world. Thank you for your support and I hope with all my heart that my books bring you even a small amount of pleasure for years to come!
