The Royals Series
I’ve been trying really hard this year to get my books the recognition I believe they deserve. This series is my newest, so that is where I’ve decided to really start with my promotions.
The first book is SUDDENLY ENTHRONED, released December of last year. When I started writing this book I did so with the realization that my life was moving forward. My youngest was about to enter middle school, my daughter who I’d spent hours reading about all the princes and princesses she was once obsessed with. I guess you could say it was my way of bringing a part of her love for fairy tale like stories, into my adult world. Knowing also that there would be no way she’d be allowed to read this particular story, or the ones that will follow, until she gets much older. While at the same time using her as my inspiration to be the best writer I could be, so that one day she’d love it, hopefully as much as she did all the ones I was forced to read to her daily when she was a little girl.
It took me a while to get the plot where I wanted it. Then a little more time to get the main characters to have all the characteristics that would make this story a modern day fairy tale, one meant for all the moms out there. I wanted it to be sexy with a feeling of some of that old world ambiance one might expect from Royalty. Deciding how all the trials they were going to be forced to encounter, would lead them to the happy ending they were fated to discover. I also wanted the other supporting characters to pop and make this story that much more interesting to read. To hate those you were supposed to hate, and love the ones you couldn’t help but fall for.
In the end I wrote the best book I could, one I myself feel in love with. One day I hope to share it with my daughter, at twelve she is dying to read it, begging me to edit out the parts that are too advanced for her innocent mind. Maybe I will, I haven’t decided yet. Although for now, I’ve told her that until she gets older, has more life experience and lost some of her innocence, she is going to have to be satisfied with the stories she finds that are age appropriate. After all, us moms need our stories too, ones we can equally get lost in.
The second book, UNEXPECTED PRINCESS, is due to be released in June. I just finished the final edits and am now waiting to get ARC’s prepped and ready for those who have agreed to give me some feedback. It is different from the first story, as it should be. Each time I read it, I fall in love with it all over again, find myself smiling at how it all came together.
So if you haven’t read the first book yet, now is your time to do so before the second one comes out. While they are standalone stories, there are reference in the second book that could spoil the first one some for you.
I hope reading this gave you some insight on how much I really do love writing. Happy Reading!!!
