Magnum spoilers
Here’s a little sneak peek at Magnum’s book with lots of spoilers. LOL. It’s first draft so will change for sure.
"Alright." Mag rubbed his chin again. "So here's the deal."
"Oh I can't wait to hear this." Gavin smirked.
"I'm in love with Wren."
I nearly fell out of my chair. My stomach sank and I struggled to breathe. "You what?" I said at the same time Gavin asked a similar question.
"I'm in love with her. She's mine. I'm protecting her from Kenny. Now I get that you had something with her but you pretty much blew that when you left her crying at the altar. I stepped in and pretended to be you at the wedding to satisfy Kenny's curiosity, but you are not legally married to Wren. I gave her the ring and we pretended to be married and attended a magic show at Kenny's place. Kenny bought it and we're in with him trying to dismantle his operation that likely includes selling children as sex slaves or labor slaves, not sure yet."
"Holy shit, Mag."
"You're in love with me?"
He turned to me and grinned. "Surprised myself with that one."
"I'm in love with you too."

The crowd chanted, "Show your tits."
Oh, hell no.
She bit her lip and leaned forward. She reached for the top of her dress and I was there in a heartbeat. I pushed Kane out of the way. My arm wrapped around her shoulder, pulling her back. "No, baby," I said low and deep in her ear.
She looked shocked as she arched her neck to peer back at me. "I wasn't gonna do it."
"Sure, Rebel. You were just faking it."
She spun around and her little mouth turned down in a frown. "Stop teasing me."
I wrapped my hands behind her back and pulled her close. "You're cute as fuck right now."
"I wasn't gonna show my boobs."
"No, you weren't because I wouldn't allow it."
"What if I wanted to do it?"
"I wouldn't allow it," I somewhat repeated.
"Since when do you allow me to do anything?"
"Since I married you."
"That's not real."
"Hush, baby. Your poker face is sucking again."

He shrugged. "I'm not here to save it up. I'm here to spend it before I die."
"The way you think is so twisted. Who did this to you?"
He laughed. "Nobody. This is just the way I've always been."
"Well, there are more positive ways to think about your future."
"You think you're gonna change me? Make me start planning and caring and making promises? No one ever has made me do it so don't get your hopes up."
"I don't have any hopes. Stella told me what you're like."
"Oh really. What did she say?"

We reached the front of the mansion and found Vander waiting in the car. We hopped in the back seat, and she let out an obnoxious snort with a whining laugh. Vander stared at her in the rearview. "She okay?"
"Yes, just go. Someone was chasing us but Wren stabbed him in the ass with her hairpin."

"So the line has shifted. Tell me you're not his girl anymore."
"I—"
"Tell me, he comes back you won't be running into his arms saying his brother manipulated and deceived you."
"No, Mag."
"Gavin."
"No. I wouldn't say you'd deceived me. You've been so honest with me. I really like that about you. I trust you a lot more than I trust him."
"So tell me."
I hesitated, lost in his eyes, not sure anymore what I was supposed to say.
"Tell me you're not his."
"I'm not his."
"Tell me I can kiss you free and clear."
"You can kiss me free and clear."
"Tell me you want me to kiss you again."
"I really really want you to kiss me again."
He grunted and his hands traveled down my hips, cupping my ass. His head came down even lower and I was drowning in his scent, his presence, his magnetism.

Wren has just told Magnum that she's not legally married to his brother. Subject to change. Copyright Bex Dane.

"You're still his girl." My voice came out gravelly and rough.
She stared out the window, watching the palm trees and sidewalks go by. "Am I?" she whispered as she turned to look at me.
The street lights were making her look even more stunning than she did in the safe house lighting.
I squeezed her thigh harder, digging my thumb into her soft skin. "Fuck me. Fuck."
We were almost at the event where we had to pretend to be married and I thought I'd have to hold back because she was really married to my brother, but now I knew this.
I leaned in close to her ear. "We get through tonight first. Then we're gonna have a little talk."
She swallowed something and nodded briefly.
"Right now, we gotta go face Kenny and Tommy and I need to focus on keeping you safe."
"Okay."
"Jesus, fuck."
"I know. Me too."
And with that, we pulled up at the mansion. Vander dropped us off at the valet and left the lot.
"Here we go."

Spoilers ahead...
I lay down next to her. "There's a myriad of reasons I'm not going to kiss you or be anywhere near you without underwear."
She smiled and grinned up at me. "And what are those, great wizard?" God, she was cute as fuck when she was sleepy.
"You're married to my brother."
"Pfffttt." She waved her hand in the air.
"Knight Security has a rule we can't fuck married women."
Her eyes popped fully open. "Really? Why?"
"Holdover from the military. KS doesn't adopt a lot of the military rules, but that one the brothers decided to keep. Have to ask them why, but I've seen some ugly brawls go down when another man's wife is involved."
"What do they do if you break it?"
"I don't know. Probably a fine or you get fired. I ain't gonna find out. The money's too good to blow it on a rule like that. Besides, I don't fuck married women or virgins."
She laughed. "Well, I'm both."
I groaned and rolled away from her. "That you are. Goodnight, my little rebel."
"I'm not a rebel."
"Sure you're not."

"Steel's real name is Itee Nivikanguak." She proceeded to share even though I'd just met Steel.
"Are you supposed to be telling me this?"
She shrugged. "He's from Alaska," as if that explained anything.
"I bet he has some interesting stories to tell." He had a scar on his face too, not as prominent as Vander's big V but more recent and just a gash on his cheek.
"Oh, you should talk to Celeste. She is so badass. Her real name is Misha. She's from Russia originally but Vander met her when Steel was being held hostage in Colombia."
Steel leaned down with his handsome face and whispered in her ear. "Babe, chill on the stories and real names for now."
Her eyes got all dreamy and she squeezed his hand. "Okay." She turned to me and winked. "Later then."

Magnum
"Y'all didn't have to come on a Sunday morning. I was planning on bringing her down this afternoon and into headquarters on Monday."
Vander leaned forward with his elbows on his knees and leveled his gaze on me. "Let's say I called you on Tuesday and asked you to look into my brother's crypto dealings." I'd forgotten that I had called him Tuesday after the engagement dinner. "Then let's say that Friday afternoon, I call you to tell you my brother's missing, and I got a mysterious tail on me." I did that too on Friday after the wedding ceremony. "On Saturday morning, I'm asking you to look into a notorious drug kingpin while I have Talon install a security system in a random bakery." Wren looked up at me when he said kingpin and the fear was back in her eyes. "Early Sunday, I'm requesting you send someone to meet the cops after an explosion in said bakery while asking for safe house access for an unknown woman. You telling me wouldn't get in a car at sunrise and make the two hour drive to see if I needed backup?"
I grinned and sat back on the couch, knees spread wide. "I'd probably have been on your ass on Tuesday asking what the fuck your brother was up to."
Everyone chuckled at that because Vander and his brothers owned the company so I'd be checking on one of my own bosses. "Right. Sorry I'm late. What the fuck is your brother up to?" Vander asked sardonically.
