How The Men of Evansdale County Came to be:
Three years ago on a blog, I started a story that I updated in serial format. It was called We All Fall Down. There was a time I thought that I would turn that story into its own book, and someday, I still might. The story revolved around a young girl named Hailee and her friendship with two brothers, Finn and Tyler.
When I went to write The Space Between Us, Dean hated the way I wrote him. He let me know that every time I sat down to write him. Then one day it clicked that Dean was Tyler. I gave him a brother – Finn – and that was that. A series started to form in my head about these four men – Dean and his brother Finn, Vin who is Dean’s boxing friend and Forrest who was Dean’s childhood best friend and the brother of Dean’s love interest Emma.
Once again I sat down to write How We Fall, and the harder I tried to NOT make Hailee and Finn the same ones from my old blog stories. Once again my characters acted up and told ME who they were.
God, I love this couple. Finn is so different from his brother Dean. He’s refined, classy, mysterious and so, so sexy. Like seriously fanning myself because he’s so damn sexy. The day I saw this photo, I KNEW he was Finn and I could barely wait to sit and write it. I didn’t have to change anything that was in my head about Finn, because this image so perfectly conveyed him to me.
I hope you fall in love with Finn and Hailee

Why I’ve Left Kindle Unlimited and Taken My Books Wide
With the release of The Space Between Us, I was bound and determined to take all my books “wide”. I landed an International BookBub deal, sales were amazing at all stores for a few weeks, my backlist was moving and then – BOOM! They tanked. Everywhere but Amazon.
Defeated, with an internal “I told you so” I put all my books right back in the KU pool. I was getting higher than ever page reads. My ranks were lifting. It confirmed to me that having my eggs in only in the Amazon basket was the only way to make any kind of decent money and make myself visible to new readers.
But Amazon, to put it diplomatically, is having some problems. And there are casualties. Nothing I haven’t seen in the last year. Except, in staggering numbers. It’s true, there are people scamming the system and making piles of money. Click-farming. Page-stuffing. Amazon is trying to go after it, but taking down a lot of honest authors in the process, stripping page reads with no explanation. Shutting down accounts without providing proof as to what kind of illegal borrowing activity they’ve found.
All the eggs in one basket sounds scary now. And the truth is, this is my business. And a smart business move would be to have my books available EVERYWHERE, in every market. Maybe making myself exclusive to Amazon doesn’t make sense, when there are so many readers who use Kobo (which was recently purchased by Walmart – which is HUGE news) iBooks, Nook and Google Play.
This time I told myself to be patient. To allow myself the time it takes to get a foothold in stores other than Amazon. To learn how to market wide, instead of throwing my hands up in defeat.

Sitting Down with author Mandy Woodall
I met Mandy on Facebook through a mutual friend. I hadn’t gotten the chance to know her very well, so when I had more author interview space, I was eager to schedule her!
1. Tell us a little about yourself and your background. [image error]
I was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana. I am an oilfield wife and momma to three beautifully amazing kids. I love to read and have been reading as long as I can remember. Books have always been my escape.
2. What are your ambitions for your writing career?
I want to be able to write and share the stories in my head to readers everywhere. I love creating characters and bringing them to life. I just want to write.
3. When did you first decide you wanted to be a writer?
I started my first book in sixth grade. Writing was always a hobby. I picked up and put down so many different stories without sticking one out. I would just write what was in my head and didn’t get beyond that. About two years ago, I decided to stick it out. I was working in medical billing and knew I wanted to achieve something more, something I loved. My first published book, Need, was born and completed.
4.Do you have any writing quirks?
I need to have background noise while I’m writing. Usually, I have the TV on mute and music playing. I also write better with pen and paper instead of directly on my computer. I write scenes as they play in my mind on paper before transferring to my computer and developing the whole story.
5. What have you written and where can we buy or see them?

6. What are you working on at the minute?
I am working on Give The Landrys Book Three. This book is Rylan and Jordan’s story. I am also part of an upcoming anthology.
7. What genre are your books and what draws you to that genre?
I write contemporary romance. I love the initial meeting of a couple and the adventure they go through to get their happy ever after.
8. Why do you write?
I write because I have a whole other world in my head that needs a place to go. I envision characters and their stories and bring them to life. I love talking books with authors and readers alike. The book community is where I feel I actually fit in and am meant to be.
9. Where do your ideas come from?
I’m not really sure where they come from. I just think of different scenarios that could happen in life and spin it into a pretty cool story.
10. Do you work from an outline or do you prefer just to see where an idea takes you?
I prefer just to see where an idea takes me. I tried an outline and realized rather quickly that wasn’t the way to go for me. I like to jump from chapter to chapter, add and delete along the way before the whole book comes together.
11. What is the hardest thing about writing?
The details. It’s easy to come up with a general idea for a book. It’s easy to write part of chapters describing certain scenes, but the little details that go into each chapter is where the mind has to work the hardest.
12. Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
I can read a book a day. I’m an addict to books. I love Lani Lynn Vale. I think she is amazing. Esther E. Schmidt is absolutely awesome. She is a beast with words. Lila Rose is amazing.

Bailey
The things I’ve seen, the things I’ve lived through, left me with scars, both physical and mental. I was closed off to people, not wanting to make attachments that I knew would break. I had friends and someone I considered family, but I didn’t let myself need anyone. Then, there he was. I felt high when I was with him and like nothing could touch me. It was a crazy, insane, have me committed type of situation.
Ryker
Growing up with five siblings and awesome parents, I knew what love and support was. I was surrounded in it. I listened to my mom explain to us that we would find the one, and I believed her. I believed in love. I just didn’t realize it would happen so soon. Then, there she was. I knew right away she was my one. I needed her, but would she let herself need me?

Sitting down with author Molly O’Hare
I met Molly through a Facebook group ran by Alessandra Torre when myself and a fellow author decided to make a small author group where we could share information, tips, tricks, ask all the questions – etc. I quickly became friends with Molly, and I have to say, her personality just lights up the room – and she’s on the other side of the U.S. from me. Molly is a talented writer, who writes laugh out loud funny, sweet and quirky romances with her own little niche – hilarious animal sidekicks.
Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Where to start? Well, I’m married to an amazingly supportive man, who doesn’t want to kill me for bringing home another stray animal. Speaking of animals, they are pretty much my life. I am that crazy person on the side of the road trying to save a worm. I can’t help it.
Something most people don’t know about me is the fact I am extremely dyslexic. I have been told on many accounts I would never be anything let alone a writer. I remember one time in school I had to take a test to determine how severe my dyslexia really was. When they got the results, let’s just say writing and reading were not in my future. However, with determination and the ‘lady balls’ to prove everyone wrong, here I am, a published author. Take that, B*tches! I mean that in the nicest way possible though. Is my spelling still horrible? Do I mess up on social media post all the time? Yes. I just shrug it off. Everyone has a backstory, and I am happy for mine.
Do you have any interesting writing quirks?
Does listening to a thunderstorm so loud your ears hurt count? If so, then yes. Yes, I do.
Give us an insight into your favorite main character. What does he/she do that is so special?
In every character I write, I try to place a piece of myself inside of them. Maggie in Hollywood Dreams had a strength I try to possess every day. She never let anyone tell her she wasn’t good enough. Her looks, her attitude, whatever it was, she was true to herself. I love her for that. I love strong women in books, and I strive always to write that as well. Holly in Stumbling Into Him is no exception, she stands up for herself, even faced with decisions that could change her life forever. I appreciate characters that make a difference and are not afraid to do so.
What are you working on at this moment?
Right now, I’m working on a Firefighter romance with a little, enemies to lovers aspect. Oh, and we cannot forget tons of humor.
What genre are your books and what draws you to that genre?
I write contemporary romantic comedies. I love to laugh. Plain and simple. I find a reason to laugh every day and that has carried over into my books. One day I want to try and write a Rom-Com paranormal book. Why not? It could be fun.
Where do your ideas come from?
My ideas come from two places, either the situation has happened to me in real life, or I had a dream about it. In Stumbling Into Him Holly gets hit in the mouth by a fly object and chips her tooth. The same thing happened to be Dec 26, 2017. As I was in the waiting room to get my tooth looked at the whole story came into my head. Other Ideas come from my dreams. I have a very active imagination, and I just go for it. If it stayed with me when I wake up, then I might as well see if I can write it.
Do you work from an outline or do you prefer just to see where an idea takes you?
I am a one-hundred percent fly by the seat of my pants writer. When I try outlining I get bored because I know what is going to happen. I prefer to be surprised.
Do you ever get writer’s Block and how do you combat it?
No lie, I dance it out. I turn on some music and have a huge, by myself, dance party.
Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
I am always reading. If I am not writing, I’m reading. I will read anything I can get my hands on. I have so many favorite authors it could be considered embarrassing… It would take me years to name them all. I also may or may not have fangirled a time or two and stalked said authors.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Do it anyway and be you. Do not hide behind whatever it is you thought you should hide behind, whether that was clothes to hide your body or hiding who you truly are. If I could go back in time, I would seriously b*tch slap myself. It’s okay to be who you are. End of story.
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
Write what makes you happy. Do not write for anyone else. And, if for one moment you think you can’t write something because someone else has already written it, remember what Mark Twain said:
“There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.” – Mark Twain
Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
Yes, I think it would be fun to add how I am obsessed with fun facts. I have been since I was a little girl. I started adding new ones to the end of my books, and I also post them all over my website. Fun facts can be anything from useless information to something people don’t know about me, that’s why I think they are fun.
Also, Alyne I want to thank you for giving me this opportunity. I loved answering your questions. You are a true gem in this world. Never change.

Stumbling Into Him
[image error]
A story that will have you laughing through every page…
Holly has spent her whole life as a walking disaster, from running into walls, tripping over invisible objects, and always being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When a seemingly normal outing taking her overly opinionated Corgi for a walk resulted in an object to the face, she didn’t think her day could get any worse. The moment she opened her eyes and saw the Adonis standing over her, she knew she’d been wrong. It was about to get a whole lot worse.
Ben’s lived his whole life disobeying his uptight, self-centered, shrew of a mother. Instead of going into the family business, he followed his dreams and opened his veterinarian clinic. One ordinary day at the dog park, and a rogue dog toy later, he found himself captivated by the curvy woman that had a feistiness which set him on fire.
It could only get better from here, right? Too bad his mother had other plans.
Excerpt:
Excerpt: “Watch out!”
Holly Flanagan heard a commotion coming from the other side of the park. Ignoring the shouting, she bent over focusing on picking up her Corgi, Waffles, most recent deposit. With Holly’s track record, though, she should have known anyone yelling “watch out,” “take cover,” or “that’s about to fall” was directed at her. Even after years of being the spokesperson for “unlucky,” “klutzy,” and “clumsy” she still disregarded the shouting as she carried on with her dog parent duties.
Before she could register what happened, she was knocked onto her back with a pain radiating from her mouth and nose.
“Well, at least the sky is pretty today,” Holly mumbled as she tried to get her bearings. She reached for her mouth as she felt the pain start to spread.
“Ma’am, are you okay?”
Holly closed her eyes pondering that exact question. Was she okay? She’d just been hit with something in her mouth. She was pretty sure some part of her face, she didn’t know which part, but she was sure something was bleeding. Waffles started barking uncontrollably, and her head hurt. So, was she okay?
Holly sighed. Yeah, she was fine. This was just another day for her, and so far, if being hit by an unknown projectile to the face was the worst thing that happened to her, she’d considered it a good day.
Opening her eyes, she gasped. Above her, only a mere few inches from her face was by far, the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes on. He had dark brown hair and deep blue eyes that were richer than the ocean. His jaw was chiseled, with a light dusting of scruff, in the Alpha male, I’m in charge here kind of way.
Wonderful. Okay, let’s add embarrassing yourself in front of a Greek God to your lists of attributes for the day. Hey, it can only get better from here, right?
She realized she was staring at him for what could have been considered too long. She quickly jerked her head forward trying to right herself. Unfortunately, for her, she slammed her head right into the Greek God’s forehead.

My review of Stumbling Into Him:
**if you want to laugh as much as you swoon, READ THIS BOOK**
I sat down one night to just read the first few pages and see what Stumbling Into Him was all about. An hour later, I had to force myself to put the book down.
Holly is a librarian with a quick wit, a weakness for animals, body issues and a penchant for falling. Which she does, quite often. However – on one occasion she literally falls into the arms of Ben, the Adonis who happens to be a veterinarian. I have to say – I have seen this scene before – girl “falls” into guys arms – sparks fly and blah blah. I always kind of roll my eyes. That being said, it worked in this book. In fact, everything worked in this book.
Ben is THE PERFECT book boyfriend. He’s so sweet and patient. And HOT. AND a vet, which means he has a soft spot for animals too. *Score*
Lord Waffles. I cannot say enough about Lord Waffles. He might be the secret star of the book. There was an interesting set of support characters – my favorite being Mildred, Holly’s co-worker at the library.
I honestly cannot say enough about this book, and I feel like I’m rambling because I want to gush about it. Molly has a knack for rom-com, believable characters, and quirky animals – and she has the ability to mash all that together with stellar, feel-good sweet romance that leaves you feeling satisfied.

On Finding a Tribe
[image error]
There’s been a lot of drama this week in Romancelandia otherwise known as #cockygate, that has extended itself to the rest of the Indie Author world and beyond. I won’t rehash it. I won’t give her any more of my energy.
The one thing that rang out to me in this mess was the Open Letter to Faleena Hopkins on Cassie Sharp’s blog. She spoke of finding your tribe. Your group of people you can celebrate with, mourn with, scream with, cry with and vent with. Your “safe space” where you can say anything without fear.
I learned this early on in my publishing journey. That other indie authors were not my competition. That if we lift each other up, and support each other – we all win. My tribe started with me and one other indie. It was small and lonely, but we had each other. Then we formed a group – and I had my tribe. We all clicked from day one. The level of trust we’ve formed is awesome and it’s become one of my favorite parts of my day to connect with the ladies of the KB 101 tribe.
To my tribe – thank you. Thank you for letting me vent, cry, celebrate – without fear.
I can’t tell you how to find your tribe. I can tell you to join groups and be active and engage in them. If you click with someone – reach out! Don’t be shy, don’t feel weird – reach out because you never know what kind of magic can happen when a group comes together and shares their collective knowledge.

Sitting down with author Jules Tyler & Happy Release Day for Finding Peace
[image error]I met Jules through my boyfriend, who just happens to grace one of her book covers. So far we’ve only had online interactions, and I can tell you she is an absolute sweetheart. I am thrilled to finally meet her in Seattle for the Readers&Writers event this July! So let’s get on with it, shall we?
Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
I grew up in a small town outside of Boise, Idaho and met my husband while I was fairly young. We’ll have been married 4 years in June and have 1 daughter and 2 huskies. I started writing for fun when I was 10 and found a summer writing workshop that took place in the Boise area for a week. I had to write a short essay about why I wanted to learn more about writing and what I hoped to accomplish during the camp. From there I was hooked. I attended the camp three more times before high school and then had the opportunity to work with some fantastic teachers who could see my potential and worked with me to stretch my artistic mind. Mr. T and Mr. Brown were my absolute favorites! I took a short writing hiatus when I graduated, it seemed as though my muse had shriveled up and nothing I put on paper seemed to flow. Then 4 years after graduating, my friend Kati introduced me to P Jameson, and let me tell you, if there were ever anything that could spark my muse back up to life, it was her work! I started writing my first book, Burning Secrets in March 2016 and published one year later. I’ve been at it ever since!
What are your ambitions for your writing career?
I am a very driven person and love setting goals. Recently I’ve been hitting a few of my smaller, personal goals, and now I’m focused on tackling some larger ones. Eventually, I would love to drop back to part-time at my day job and focus more on my writing. More time = more books = happier readers is my philosophy. I want to be able to write stories that touch the soul and enlighten the spirit like P Jameson, Moxie North, and Desiree Lafawn have done for me. Each of these authors have written something that reached in and grabbed ahold of my heart and won’t let go. I want to do that for someone else. I feel like once that happens that that will be the moment that I’ve truly “made it” as an author.
Do you have any interesting writing quirks?
I can’t write in coffee shops or around people. I have to lock myself away from everyone and blast my music so I can focus and get everything to flow.
Which writers inspire you?
Oh so many…Right now my list consists of Moxie North, P Jameson, PA Vachon, Desiree Lafawn, Samantha McCoy, Grace Brennan, T Birmingham, Victoria Flynn, Darlene Tallman, Alyne Hart, & Teri Kay. Each of these women have inspired me in one way or another. Every single one of them comes from a different path in life and have grabbed life by the horns to show it who’s boss. If they can do this, why can’t I?
What have you written and where can we buy or see them?
I currently have 7 books out right now. You can find them all on Amazon. My Silver Creek Shifters series is the one I’m currently working on. Finding Peace released today with Mr. Jamie Walker on the cover and the ARC and Beta readers seemed to really enjoy it so I’m very excited about it. I’ll be publishing the final book in that series, Finding Strength, in early June. My Snake River Prison Camp series also has 3 books out, I’ve taken a step back from that series and look forward to diving back into it later this year after I rework some of the storyline. I also have a standalone out, Shifter’s Shield, that was written as part of Lisa Ladew’s One True Mates Kindle World last fall. That one was a lot of fun to write and I look forward to working on additional books for it in the years to come.

Give us an insight into your favorite main character. What does he/she do that is so special?
Stella from Finding Sanctuary, is in my first book of the Silver Creek Shifters Series. I admired her tenacity and strength. She got hurt in a very real and personal way and chose to save herself from a terrible fate. She gets doled out some of the worst experiences in life but keeps on going. In some ways I think that I wrote her not for the readers, but for myself, to remind myself that no matter how bad it gets, it can always get better with the right people in your life to help you.
What are you working on at the minute?
I’m working on a couple of things right now! I’ve got Finding Strength in the works right now for release in early June and that one is turning out to be really intense so it’s taking up most of my attention. But I also am working on a top secret project with a handful of authors that’s due to release in early August. I’ll be teasing more on that after Finding Strength releases in June for sure. I’m very excited about what we’re working on and think it will be devoured by our readership for sure!
What genre are your books and what draws you to that genre?
I write in the Paranormal Romance genre right now with plans to dabble in the Urban Fantasy genre at later times. I genuinely enjoy the idea of shifters. The idea that you can be this shy, timid person with a dragon wrapped up inside of you, or a bear, or whatever animal, truly fascinates me. Plus it makes for a lot of fun in a romance setting, it definitely gives a whole new meaning to being an animal in bed if you catch my drift.
