What's coming up from JMW

 Dear readers,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks to your support, Into the Bush was my biggest release yet, and March was my best month of sales ever. My previous best month of sales was July 2021, when Jungle Jitters was released.

This means that there is a lot of demand for the Action Girls, and there will definitely be more Jennifer, Stephanie, and Jackie in your future. I am currently deciding what Action Girls in book to write next, and have narrowed it down to Future Frolics, Space Escapades, or Arab Antics. Feel free to weigh in on the comments section below to let me know what you want to see!

But before I do that, I want to edit another anthology. If you remember, my first anthology as editor was Gruesome Futures, which came out late last summer. I intentionally kept Gruesome Futures low-key so I could use it as a learning experience. The biggest lesson I learned was that if I am going to edit another anthology, I will need a budget so I can put out a call for submissions and make the best book I possibly can.

That is why, later this month or early next, I will launch my very first Kickstarter campaign, and you all will be the first to hear about it. I can’t wait to share the details of this exciting and innovative project with you all!

That’s about it! Thank you to everybody who has bought and read Into the Bush and Jungle Jitters, to everybody who has reviewed my books at AmazonGoodreadsBookBub, or your own website like Mike Rankin and David J. Higgins have done, to everybody who has posted about them on XFacebookSubstackBlueSkyThreads, or anywhere else, and everybody who has recommended my books to their friends. You are the force that keeps me going!

Into the Bush available for preorder

Dear readers,

I am excited to let you know that the semi-sequel to Jungle Jitters you all asked forInto the Bush, is finally available for preorder! You can find it at the following links: Amazon (eBook)Amazon (paperback)Apple BooksEverandKoboGoogle Play, and Smashwords.

It will also be available at Godless as part of their three-year anniversary celebration: https://godless.com/collections/the-big-tres

Here is the universal book link with more options: https://books2read.com/into-the-bush

Most people are unaware that before he became America’s premier writer of subversive fiction, J. Manfred Weichsel cut his teeth in Hollywood, crafting screenplays for the notorious Action Girls, a trio of indie starlets whose on and off-screen antics captivated audiences throughout the 2010s. In this tell-all memoir, Weichsel dishes out the most salacious details on the making of their most notorious film,  Into the Bush .

After the overwhelmingly successful premiere of Jungle Jitters, Jennifer, the leader of the Action Girls, is eager to make another jungle adventure movie, and she asks her regular scribe, J. Manfred Weichsel, to write it.

His pitch? A three-hundred-mile-long giantess named Patty McGloop lies eternally on her back in the Mojave Desert, with a pubic hair region spanning seven miles from below her navel to between her thighs. Just as the Gargantua ray made Patty McGloop very big, it also enlarged the microscopic animals that live on her skin and hair. Wouldn’t it be fun to go exploring inside her pubic hair jungle in order to document all the interesting flora and fauna?

The Action girls excitedly make all the preparations needed to shoot such a bizarre motion picture and take a helicopter to Patty McGloop’s navel, the gateway to her colossal realm. But when the girls become captive to a tribe of zealous lice, it’s up to Manfred to go on a daring mission into the bush to rescue them.

While the glitz and glamor of Tinseltown may seem like a dream come true, insiders know that life with the Action Girls was anything but ordinary. Weichsel's days were a whirlwind of adrenaline and excess. Rumors of secret romances, bitter rivalries, and drunken nights on set only add fuel to the fiery saga of his Hollywood tenure. Don't miss out on these behind-the-scenes revelations that will leave you laughing, gasping, and begging for more.

Into the Bush will be available in eBook and paperback at all your favorite stores March 18. Please pre-order the eBook now.

My next blog post will be on March 18th when Into the Bush is available to read.

Cover reveal: The Action Girls in Into the Bush

Dear readers,

On March 30th, 2023, I ran a poll asking whether you wanted a new book starring the Action Girls from my novel Jungle Jitters, or if you wanted a book with all new characters. A whopping 91.3% of you said you wanted another Action Girls book, so I sat down and began to brainstorm.

It took a little longer to write than I had planned, but mark your calendars for March 18th, 2024, because that’s when The Action Girls in Into the Bush will be unleashed upon the world. I can tell you without hesitation that Into the Bush is my best book yet.

Also, Into the Bush has my best cover yet, with art by an amazing digital artist and illustrator who goes by the monicker Apolonster, and design by Drew Stepek, owner of the eBook store Godless.com.

Before proceeding to the cover reveal, my attorneys have advised me to give the following disclaimer:

Before viewing the cover to J. Manfred Weichsel’s latest mind-bending literary extravaganza, please be advised that if you are pregnant, suffer from a heart condition, or experience anxiety or panic attacks, reconsider scrolling down. Side effects of the Into the Bush cover may include moments of disbelief, jaw-dropping astonishment, and a sudden urge to run away from home and join the circus. Consult your doctor before proceeding further. Remember, J. Manfred Weichsel book covers are not for the faint of heart or the easily startled. If in doubt, please consult your sense of adventure.

And now, without further ado, the cover for The Action Girls in Into the Bush:

Synopsis:

Most people don’t realize that before he was America’s premier writer of subversive fiction, J. Manfred Weichsel had his roots in Hollywood, where he wrote screenplays for the Action Girls, a trio of starlets who produced and acted in their own indie movies throughout the 2010’s.

In this behind-the-scenes memoire, J. Manfred Weichsel dishes out the most salacious details of the making of their most notorious film, Into the Bush.

After the overwhelmingly successful premier of Jungle Jitters, Jennifer, the leader of the Action Girls, is eager to make another Jungle Adventure movie, and she asks her regular scribe, J. Manfred Weichsel, to write it.

His pitch? A three-hundred-mile-long giantess named Patty McGloop lies eternally on her back in the Mojave Desert, with a public hair region spanning seven miles from below her navel to between her thighs. Just as the Gargantua ray made Patty McGloop very big, it also enlarged the microscopic animals that live on her skin and hair. Wouldn’t it be fun to go exploring inside her pubic hair jungle in order to document all the interesting flora and fauna?

The Action girls excitedly make all the preparations needed to shoot such a bizarre motion picture, and take a helicopter to Patty McGloop’s navel, the gateway to her colossal realm. But the girls are quickly captured by the savage creatures inhabiting McGloop’s lush bush. Now, it is up to J. Manfred Weichsel, screenwriter, to go on a daring mission into the bush to rescue them.

Now, if you didn’t get this from the synopsis, Into the Bush is a semi-sequel to my book Jungle Jitters, in that Jungle Jitters exists as a movie within the world of Into the Bush. This means that you don’t have to have read Jungle Jitters to understand Into the Bush, but it may help you get some of the jokes and appreciate things a little more fully. So, if you haven’t read Jungle Jitters yet, pick it up at the digital or brick and mortar bookstore of your choice: https://books2read.com/Jungle-Jitters. Jungle Jitters is, or course, also available on Godless, right here: https://godless.com/products/jungle-jitters-by-j-manfred-weichsel.

Or, if you prefer, wait until March 18 to read Into the Bush.

Okay, that’s about it. Before I go, I just want to give a shoutout to my amazing artist:

Apolonster specializes in fantasy themes drawn for an adult audience. He has an academic art education, and has completed many courses to improve his skills, knowledge and abilities, as well as hundreds of hours of self-improvement of practical skills. To learn more about Apolonster’s work, including how to hire him, visit his linktree here: https://linktr.ee/apolonster.

Thanks for reading. I can’t wait for you to be able to read Into the Bush on March 18.

Sincerely,

J. Manfred Weichsel

Cirsova just announced its 2024 lineup!

Dear readers,

I’m hard at work writing Into the Bush, but I want to take a quick break to let you know that Cirsova just announced its 2024 lineup, and as far as new pulp is concerned, 2024 is going to be a fantastic year!

My story, A Most Exquisite Specimen, is set to appear in the summer issue. It’s a weird, funny, creepy horror-fantasy, and is probably the best short story I’ve written. I don’t want to give too much away now because of spoilers, but I just want to let you know that you’re going to love it.

In addition to me, there are just so many amazing authors with stories in Cirsova next year that it’s unbelievable. Many are staples of the magazine like I am, some are returning with new stories after a hiatus, and still others are completely new to the magazine, and to me. Check them all out at the link:

https://cirsova.wordpress.com/2023/10/30/cirsova-2024-lineup/

This post is public so feel free to share it to let all your friends know about Cirsova’s amazing 2024 lineup.

Okay, I’m going to get back to writing Into the Bush now. If you missed my big announcement and have no idea what I’m talking about, you can check it out here:

Announcing my Next Book

Dear readers,

Back in March of this year I ran a poll to see what you wanted my next book to be. An overwhelming majority of you, 91.3% to be exact, voted for another Action Girls book, like Jungle Jitters.

Well, me being me, I ignored the results of the poll and edited the Gruesome Futures anthology instead. Now that that book is out of the way, I’m back on track writing the Action Girls book as I was meant to, and I can tell you it’s going to be my wildest, craziest, most experimental work of literature yet!

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Most people don’t realize that before he was America’s premier writer of subversive fiction, J. Manfred Weichsel had his roots in Hollywood, where he wrote screenplays for the Action Girls, a trio of starlets who produced and acted in their own indie movies throughout the 2010’s.

In this behind-the-scenes memoire, J. Manfred Weichsel dishes out the most salacious details of the making of their most notorious film, Into the Bush. After the overwhelmingly successful premier of Jungle Jitters, Jennifer, the leader of the Action Girls, is eager to make another movie, and she asks her regular scribe, J. Manfred Weichsel, to write it.

His pitch? A three-hundred-mile-tall giantess named Patty McGloop resides in the Mojave Desert, with a public hair region spanning seven miles from below her navel to between her thighs. Just as the Gargantua ray made Patty McGloop very tall, it also enlarged the microscopic animals that live on her skin and hair.

Manfred Weichsel, humble screenwriter, to go on a daring mission into the bush to rescue them.

Okay, so that’s Into the Bush in a nutshell. Now, onto some housekeeping:

Into the Bush is a semi-sequel to my most controversial novel, Jungle Jitters, meaning that Jungle Jitters exists as a movie within the world of Into the Bush. So, while you don’t have to have read the previous book to understand the upcoming one, you will get a few jokes you might otherwise have missed and have a richer experience if you do. So, I encourage everyone who hasn’t to pick up Jungle Jitters today.

If you look at the graphic at the top of this article, the letters and design are by Drew Stepek, owner of the eBook store Godless. If you look below at the redesigned cover of Jungle Jitters, Drew did those letters too.

You can find all of my books on Godless, along with hundreds, perhaps thousands of books that are unavailable anywhere else. Drew has been incredible supportive of me, and I encourage all of you to check out Godless. You might find your next favorite book!

The portrait of the Action Girls in the graphic above is AI fan art by my good friend Seth Metoyer, owner of More Horror. Please check his stuff out as well.

I’ll be looking for a 100% human artist soon to do the cover illustration for Into the Bush. I want the cover to be stylistically similar to Jungle Jitters, so if you know anybody available who can draw hot women in an adventure setting in an American comics style with a traditional pulp influence, please get in touch and let me know.

I’ve been doing a bunch of podcasts lately where you can get to know me better. I encourage everybody to give them a watch or listen. My most recent was the Iron Man podcast on Rumble. I also made a playlist of my best YouTube appearances. Please check them out.

Okay, that’s about it. I hope to release Into the Bush early 2024. I look forward to sharing it with you. In the meantime, check out Jungle Jitters, and if you’ve already read it, let all your friends know by posting about it on social media or writing a review. If you haven’t read it yet, click the cover to get Jungle Jitters at your favorite store:

Sincerely,

J. Manfred Weichsel

Cover Reveal for Gruesome Futures (Tales to Make You Vomit Book 4)

Welcome, dear readers, to the long-awaited cover reveal of "Gruesome Futures", the fourth installment in my spine-chilling series, Tales to Make You Vomit, and my first anthology as editor. Today, we embark on a journey through the haunting image adorning the cover, one that symbolizes the twisted odyssey that awaits you, my lovely fans, between the pages of the paperback or etched in eInk on the screen of your eReader.

As we gaze upon the ghastly cover art of "Gruesome Futures", a profound metaphor emerges, weaving a tapestry of terror and despair: an astronaut, devoid of a protective helmet, kneels on the lunar surface, regurgitating upon the desolate moon.

The act of vomiting represents the overwhelming horror and helplessness, the overwhelming emotional and psychological turmoil, that you, dear fans, will face reading this book. Just as the astronaut succumbs to the uncontrollable expulsion of his deepest fears, so too will you succumb to the insidious forces that unfold within the lunar library. The moon, an otherworldly and barren landscape, acts as a canvas upon which your horrors will manifest, contrasting the vastness of the universe with the minuscule vulnerability of humanity.

And yet, this metaphor extends further, capturing not only the astronaut's torment, but also the cataclysmic fate of our world. Behind him, the Earth erupts into a devastating explosion, symbolizing the impending doom that looms over the world you will leave behind within the pages of this book.

Ultimately, the cover of "Gruesome Futures" encapsulates the terrifying exploration of humanity's darkest depths, where our fears, both personal and existential, threaten to consume us entirely. And now, without further ado, the cover to Gruesome Futures (Tales to Make You Vomit Book 4):

In Gruesome Futures, three brave astronauts embark on a seemingly routine trip to the moon. Little do they know that a hidden purpose awaits them—an alien signal detected from the moon, shrouded in secrecy to prevent panic on Earth. The lunar module is damaged upon landing, stranding the astronauts on the moon's surface, with no hope of returning home. Determined to fulfill their mission, they follow the mysterious signal to a crater, leading them beneath the moon's surface and into an enigmatic library.

Here, the narrative takes a grotesque turn when the astronauts encounter an unsettling presence known as the Librarian, a seemingly harmless elderly woman with a nefarious agenda.

Each astronaut must read a science fiction book from the Librarian's collection, a series of abhorrent stories authored by the disgustingly talented Misha Burnett, Max Gunssler, and Todd Love. For every instance of vomiting, the Librarian will launch a colossal rock at Earth, causing unimaginable destruction and loss of life. As the narrative unfolds, the astronauts face an unsettling realization—the final rock will bring about the extinction of all life on Earth.

"Gruesome Futures" features stories by three acclaimed authors renowned for their ability to invoke revulsion, dread, and a dark fascination. They are:

Misha Burnett!

With a penchant for crafting unsettling narratives, Misha Burnett’s latest tale, It Only Hurts When I Swallow, promises to take you on an emotional journey of grotesque beauty. In this slice of new wave fiction, Burnett’s twisted imagination births scenes of judicial punishment that defy the limits of human comprehension.

Max Gunssler!

Prepare to be ensnared by the putrid pulp of Max Gunssler, for in The Rape and Annihilation of Babe Babylonia, he weaves a story of future professional wrestling that will disturb the depths of your puny human psyche. Gunssler’s uncanny ability to write gonzo, off-the-wall action scenes, makes his contribution to "Gruesome Futures" a testament to his mastery of the pen.

Todd Love!

In The Secret on Subfloor 82 of Serenity Station, Todd Love offers readers an unforgiving plunge into the darkest recesses of the human condition. In this piece of Grimdark MilFic action, Love’s exploration of the grotesque serves as a reflection of our own flawed existence, challenging you to unearth the true horrors that lie within.

And let’s not forget Skincube!

Last, but certainly not least, is Tales to Make You Vomit cover artist Skincube. Skincube is a freelance artist who draws comics and weird stuff. His twisted and grotesque creations have graced the covers of books, music albums, and magazines. He is based in Los Angeles, where he enjoys peeling off his own skin and stitching it into new shapes. You can find more of his horrific work on his Patreon, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Gumroad, and Artstation. Beware: his art may make you vomit.

Prepare yourselves, dear readers, as "Gruesome Futures" lurks just beyond the horizon, eager to invade your nightmares and beckon you into its dreadful embrace. With the tantalizing promise of unsettling tales from Misha Burnett, Max Gunssler, and Todd Love, this latest installment in Tales to Make You Vomit is sure to satiate even the most voracious of horror connoisseurs. Brace yourselves for the unspeakable horrors that await within the pages of this abominable anthology.

Gruesome Futures (Tales to Make You Vomit Book 4) comes out on Godless August 18, and everywhere else September 1.

I can’t wait! Can you?

Sincerely,

J. Manfred Weichsel

Back it today!

Okay, so that’s exciting piece of news number 1. Exciting piece of news number 2 is that I am hitting the home stretch on my first anthology as editor, Tales to Make You Vomit: Gruesome Futures.

Editing an anthology turned out to be harder than I thought, so I am moving the release date from July 22 to August 18. The eBook will first be published exclusively to Godless.com, and will be made available in eBook and Paperback on Amazon and all the wide sites September 1. The anthology contains stories by Misha Burnett, Max Gunssler, and Todd Love, with a frame narrative by me. I am extremely proud of it and can’t wait to share it with you all. You are going to love it!

If you have never read my Tales to Make You Vomit series, the first three books are She Was Asking for ItKittycat Massacre, and Savage Headhunters. You can also find them on my page on Godless. In Tales to Make You Vomit a ghoul called the Librarian forces visitors to her library to read the most disgusting books imaginable. These are all standalones and can be read in any order, so feel free to pick and choose the ones you want to check out.

For my third and final piece of news, I am still working on my Action Girls book. I’m a good way into writing it and am thrilled with how it’s turning out, but I had to take a little break to give my full attention to Gruesome Futures. Once that is out the door, I will be able to focus on finishing Action Girls, and hopefully publish it before the end of the year.

Sincerely,

J. Manfred Weichsel
