November was a whirlwind for me. I had a writer conference followed by a retreat. It was energizing! I am so excited for what I have planned in my writing schedule in 2020 and beyond.
I'm working on my current WIP to get it to readers in early 2020. In the meanwhile, enjoy this little snippet:
His head shot up and the half of the cookie sticking out of in his mouth broke off and dropped onto the counter. “There you are.” His words were muffled behind about two manhole cover-sized cookies.
“Did you think I was hiding in my cookie box?”
“Is that what you’re are calling it these days?” Killer smile and a direct hit.

One of my beta readers highlighted this scene I thought I'd share with you.
Here goes:
Like a deer caught in headlights after long nights in the forest, he froze me in my tracks.
“Delicious.”
That broke the thread of hypnosis and I stumbled backward, nearly tripping over the empty air.
He held out his hands to catch me, but I smacked them away, keeping one eye on him as I rushed up the stairs and into the house.
“Thanks, Bay.”
The way he said my name. His voice traced it’s was down my spine. The single syllable making me shiver.
