Mary Ann Johnson was born into a large and boisterous family of nine children and survived to become the mother of seven equally boisterous and busy children. She has been happily married to her husband, Don, for 46 years and has 13 grandchildren aged 2 to 29. She started college at nineteen and finally finished, with a masters degree, in her forties.

Mary Ann has helped thousands of individuals and families to build better relationships. She is the founder of Relationship Transformations for Busy Parents, an online community reaching thousands of people each week. However, when I was a fairly young girl I read Lost Horizons by James Hilton. It has some happy parts and some sad parts. I didn't think much about it as a girl, except that it was a great story. But now I am 67 and I have lived a long time, experienced much and done much. Shangri-la is a place I would go. I would go there to think without so many worldly distractions and to rest. Knowing myself I wouldn't stay long because there are so many things I feel compelled to do before I die but I would stay long enough to have a darn good rest and to do some inner work. I have discovered that inner work usually matters most but it is hard to do in our busy world. (less)

I am Grateful for:

I’m grateful for my seven children, all of whom are different and amazing. Raising them was a learning experience for me. With their help and forgiveness, I was able to understand what I didn’t know and grow in ways I wasn’t aware I needed to. Then, despite the challenges my growth made for them, they loved me and still do to this day. Amazing!
