Reading for TGB

The working title for Tobias's book is sort of awful, so I'm not even using it in my own head. If I'm brutally honest, I've been thinking of it as TGB, which stands for The Goldfish Book. That's weird on a few levels, I'll admit, not the least of which is that so far there are zero actual goldfishes in the story. There's a reference though, so I'm not just grabbing random words out of the ether, I promise. Maybe one day I'll explain the story behind the fake/real working title, but it won't b...

Loose Cannon Paperback Available April 4!

So I got some good news the other day. ;D Yup, Loose Cannon is going to be available as a paperback, too!

Don't panic if you've noticed that the date is different than you'd expected; the ebook will still be released on April 3. Due to some slight shipping delays, the paperback will be released on April 4th from both Amazon and Barnes and Noble (websites only, no stores). You can pre-order the paperback from Amazon now.

Conversation Saturdays and The Last of Bad Judgment

Hello all!

As you may have seen on my homepage, now that we're a couple months away from the release of Loose Cannon, I've decided to repeat the pre-release weekend excerpt/teaser thing that I did last year when Bad Judgment came out. That means that for each of the Saturdays in February and March, I'll be posting a small teaser for Loose Cannon on my Facebook page. You can find that here

Last year I referred to the release of these teasers as Conversation Saturdays. The name came from an ev...

Character Development

I'm gonna talk a little bit about character development today. Mostly because it's what I've been working on all week and it's lodged in my brain, but also because I just want to. I guess I'd be in the wrong job if I didn't think this crap was interesting. I can't imagine this will be all that interesting to most of you, but I promise I'll get back to my usual office supply store posts sooner or later. ;D

Anyone who's ever taken a fiction class or read a book about writing fiction has probably...

Loose Cannon Update/Bad Judgment Bonus Content

Lots to read!

First, I finally posted that excerpt for Loose Cannon, and if you're thinking that you don't care because you've already read it, think again. I included the second chapter too. ;D

Part of the reason it took so long is that I was struggling with how much to include. When Bad Judgment came out, I included the first two chapters because the first chapter of that book has a lot of plot set-up and "Hi, this is Brogan" set-up, and I wanted to let readers see more of my heroes' interacti...

The Winter Blahs

I've been having a hard time finding motivation lately. It isn't that the current work-in-progress is stalled, because I'm happy with my outline so far, and I've been able to put some good pages together. I know what's coming up next and I'm prepared. It's just...I kinda don't want to?

What I want to do is climb back into bed and read.I've just picked up all of my requests at the library, so I have ten new books, and I downloaded some new fanfic from writers I like. I've also got a holiday hang...

Loose Cannon is Available for Pre-Order!

I spent most of yesterday making sure that my Loose Cannon page was set up with buy links, because the book is now available for pre-order! It doesn't come out until April 3, 2017, but if you'd like to get ahead, you can go to the Loose Cannon page here and find links to all the major retailers.

I'm hoping to get an excerpt up soon--probably the same one that we saw in the back of Bad Judgment, but maybe I'll make it a little longer just to reward those of you have already read that first bit!...

Cover Release

So my April 2017 release, Loose Cannon, has a cover now. Wanna see?

Now that there's a cover, I'm going to start working on the webpage for the book so that I'll have someplace to put the blurb and the excerpt. Not too much longer, I hope! ;D
