I love the Buena Vista winery, which is one of the inspirations for the book. I also fell in love with the Russian River Valley last time I was in Sonoma. Whenever I see a Pinot Noir from a Russian River Valley winery, I buy it! Both Healdsburg and Sonoma have magical downtowns and delicious wines.
In terms of wine, I think the perfect wine paring for my book is a sparkling rose and a rosemary cracker with goat cheese.
No plans for a California book party yet, but stay tuned!!(less)

“In the age of Instagram and Snapchat, I think a memory is the most private thing.”
Miriam Parker, The Shortest Way Home

“... you can change lots of cosmetic things about your life. You can get a graduate degree and have your pick of cities to live in and careers to pursue. You can move from coast to coast, from apartment to house to apartment to cottage and back again. But at the end of the day, you're still yourself.”

“Mr Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowls. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast heart, liverslices fried with crustcrumbs, fried hencods' roes. Most of all he liked grilled mutton kidneys which gave to his palate a fine tang of faintly scented urine.”

“She quotes Robert Louis Stevenson about how young writers must read like predators. And she says that all of us, not just writers, must read like predators. For books are food, she said, for every single one of us.”
