Welcome to the Akiniwazisaga Union!

My very first foray into the world of publishing came with the publication of this book, “A Light Rises in a Dark World”, in 2017. It was supposed to be a trilogy and done, but this original book was too long and needed to be split but that meant I now needed a climax for the new first book.

Stay tuned until next week when I post the first chapter of “A Light Rises in a Dark World”!

Or if yo...

Rolling Thunder

By Bam Boncher (The other half of Resonant Media Arts)

A group of motorcycle riders with varying appearances and attire, riding through a rain-soaked landscape under a dramatic cloudy sky, while multiple American flags wave in the background.

I hear them coming long before I see them, the rumbling roar of motorcycles echoing up the valley. American flags wave in the breeze as I turn my gaze towards the mountain, looking for the first bike to come down the road and into view in the sleepy little mountain town of Rainelle, WV.

Within minutes they arrive. Dozens of bikes with as varied riders as the bikes themselves, all with proud American flags and other symbols on their ...

What Goes Around…

…comes around when you least expect it!

If only I had that dad bod instead of the blob bod I currently struggle with and where can I get that shirt!

Here I sit, frantically typing a short story that is running through my brain faster than a freight train, trying to keep it on track and get it finished in time for a deadline. This particular story is due by the end of this month, mere days away, and I have another that is due at the same time.

Time management? what’s that?

You can rea...

Gallery #5: End of the Road

I did a story for a little spot of micro fiction. These were some of the other nice pictures that came I considered, and the one I went with. You can read the story here:

Easter Homecoming

I wrote this short story last year for an anthology submission, but it was not accepted, so it has languished on my PC for a while.

A serene watercolor landscape depicting a small town nestled in the hills, featuring a church with a tall steeple, quaint houses, and a river reflecting the light of the setting sun.

The story is near future dystopian – what if the US fell apart? How would the different states approach life and how would towns protect themselves and provide basic needs? What happens when others learn about these amenities and decide to take them for themselves? And what happens when families are split apart and brothers find themselves starting across the...

Aspirationalism: The Next Literary Movement

A bustling vintage bookstore filled with numerous books and patrons browsing, illuminated by natural light through large windows.

I’d had this post simmering on the back burner for almost a year now, and I think it’s time to finish my thought in light of current events.

Back in late 2023, I coined the term “Aspirationalism” for the successor to the Post-Modernist literary movement. This came up because people were declaring this new era of post-post modernist entertainment to be several different things. From PulpRev to the Iron Age and half a dozen other different groups claiming to be the future like the artist co...

Raconteur Press Rawhide Revenants Is Available now!

I am very proud to announce that Rac Press’s latest weird west anthology – number 3 for those counting – is available for purchase now at Amazon.

Cover art for the anthology 'Wyrd West: Rawhide Revenants,' featuring a woman with long, braided hair holding a cat, set against a backdrop of a train and a western landscape.

Why am I proud? Because this one has my wife’s debut story with Rac Press, “When the Hoot Owl Calls” in it! She worked hard on that short story and its good, if I say so myself, and that’s not just because I’m biased as her husband. Well, okay, I am biased, but my pronouncement that the story is good is not just because of that!

Want to test...

Art Gallery #4: Mecha Inspired

How do!

One of my big projects this year is for a new sci fi adventure titled “Mech Family Robinson”. There’s been several remakes of the classic tale and this is my shot at it. Of course, I’ve been trying to come up with artwork that would work well for the novel, but just didn’t hit the mark yet. That doesn’t mean I didn’t have some really neat ideas come up in the batches. Here’s a few of them.

Storms Roll In

A dramatic stormy sky over mountains at sunset, with vibrant purple and orange hues, dark clouds, and visible lightning.

https://resonantmediaarts.substack.com/p/storms-roll-in

Moving to WV from WI brought with it some changes in my understanding of the weather. In WI, when you see a line coming at you, you could predict it’s arrival and approximate strength to the minute.

WV, not so much.

The Radar showed some angry dark orange cells coming at us, what I showed you in the video. By the time it got here, the mountains tore it up and it was just barely yellow. Dark green mostly.

I’m not used to this...

Spring Has Sprung

Posting is supposed to import/share here from Substack, but I’ve learned they’ve locked out their system, so I have to manually share. So that’ll become part of the routine I guess for now unless I can export from here to there. Now on to the post.
