Midland funding campaign hits 25%
It’s been a good week for Midland. The Unbound campaign is now within a whisker of hitting the 25% mark, a major milestone on the road to publication. and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who've pledged so far. While the funding campaign is undoubtedly very hard work, at the same time it's been a life-affirming experience to chat to you all and see you take such a leap of faith on my behalf.
Team Midland now feels like an amazing place to be. When I flick through the list of names on my supporters page, I get a real glow from the thought that these people are not only my friends, they actually want to read my book. It's a feeling you just don't get from publishing in the traditional manner, and it really does make it all worthwhile.
To all those who haven't taken the plunge yet, I would say this. An ebook pledge is just £10. It took me over ten years to write Midland, so that's less than £1 a year to have me bring the very best intellectual work I can do at the very height of my talents in the sweet spot directly to the digital device of your choice. That's cheaper than WhatsApp!
So come on now, and join Team Midland. An ebook pledge will ensure your name goes in the back of the book alongside that of the incredible authors, artists, doctors, filmmakers, musicians, traders, publishers, entrepreneurs, journalists and just downright good friends who have already given their support.
These people know quality text when they see it, and when Midland is a runaway success you'll be able to prove that you were one of the people who knew it too, back when I could still be bought for the laughably cheap sum of just 8p a month.
