Entering the Digital World
Much has changed in the publishing industry and some of these changes have adversely affected small book publishers. As a result, many authors including myself, have been forced to enter the digital publishing world.
This is not an easy process as it requires quite a new learning curve in order to turn previously published books into ebooks. There are strict formatting issues to work out and several different formats - all having their own styles and uses on various ebook bookstore sites.
Currently, I am in the process of turning all of my books into ebooks to post on Amazon.com. A couple that are already listed, I have learned, need to be revised so they show up well in the various ereaders. One such book is Terror In The Night: Alien Abduction Exposed! I wondered why some folks who purchased the ebook later sent it back. Now I know that I did not format this ebook properly. I thought I had covered everything but unfortunately, had not.
That said, this ebook is currently being revised through CreateSpace and published by my co-author, Dawn Colclasure since CreateSpace will only deal with U.S. authors due to bank account issues. I am in Canada and cannot do this myself so I am left to leave it in her hands and I am confident that she will able to take care of this for me. The big benefit of this arrangement is that this one will also be available as a book, as well as an ebook, which gives the reader another option to purchase it as such.
As I noted, this entire process has been a huge learning effort in order to get everything right. Although ebooks tend to sell for much less than books, all of this work is not taken into account but it is a necessary step toward entering the ever-growing digital world.
I hope my readers will give this book/ebook a chance to open their eyes to a subject that has been taboo for much too long. There is much happening that most people are simply not aware of and this book offers plenty of information through both first-hand accounts of alien abduction, including a handful of folks that I personally know to be normal, everyday, hardworking people with nothing to gain by telling their stories, as well as much research I have personally conducted to get to the truth of this little known issue. Abductees are put between a rock and a hard place so to speak. While many of them have suffered due to the alien presence in their lives, telling their stories usually leaves them open to skepticism and in some cases, extreme ridicule from family members, friends and co-workers. This is the type of experience that only those who have lived it can truly understand.
When the new edition of this book is available, I will write another post so you will know about it. Until then, happy reading!
