My Youtube Revamp
A little while back I used to have a craft channel on YouTube, which was not too shabby, but I was not overly great at videos or making a lot of them. However, I did bumble along and a few of them reached pretty impressive views. One or two have topped over a million views!
The problem with me, is I am such an eclectic person in all things. A mix of crafts, art, DIY and writing, that a channel for one subject never really hit the mark for me. I guess it’s why I never really stuck at it for a long period of time and came and went sporadically. I have a really varied skill set and a lot of talents and hobbies when I am not writing my next book. I was finding it hard to stay inspired on one theme and that is where my channel failed.
As a way of utilizing my channel once more, I have given it a little update and posted some intro videos with the intention of doing some of ‘everything’ in the near future.

To name but a few of the ideas swirling around in my crazy brain.
You name it, I will do it. I want my channel to be as random and varied as me, so I invite you along to have a nosey as I start to upload new videos in the next month.

Book Review – One Hot Summer by Kat French
I do actually read books sometimes and although I do not follow current trends and fads with best sellers, I do know what I like and will try to occasionally share them with you.
This book is one of my favourite reads of 2017

One Hot Summer: A laugh-out-loud love story
Blurb
** A SIZZLING ROMP WITH A GREAT CAST OF CHARACTERS**
Alice McBride’s husband Brad is super famous, totally gorgeous . . . and having an affair with his co-star. And now it’s splashed across all the newspapers.
After kicking Brad out, Alice decides to rent out her beloved home for the summer. And the last person she expects to arrive at Borne Manor is a sexy cowboy called Robinson.
Country music star Robinson has had his own share of heartache, and he’s come to Borne Manor to escape from it all. Neither Alice nor Robinson are looking for romance, but the spark between them can’t be ignored.
Could a holiday romance help heal their broken hearts? And what will happen when their long hot summer together comes to an end?
[̲̅M̲̅][̲̅y̲̅] [̲̅R̲̅][̲̅e̲̅][̲̅v̲̅][̲̅i̲̅][̲̅e̲̅][̲̅w̲̅]
I love a good easy read and a cosy romance, even if the plot line is pretty predictable. Kat French has been a favourite author for quite some time( and we are Facebook friends) so when I added a book to my forever shelf (my minuscule line of would read again books, separate from the hoards of others) I knew I would definitely take this book on a trip with me to read all over again.
I loved this book for so many reasons – Alice, the quietly strong and determined heroine who has been wronged in love and just wants to keep her home.
Alice is relatable, determined and stubborn. A stand on your own feet and try to take control of your life type, that I fully appreciate.

Robinson – the hot broken hearted country singer trying to escape his fame for a little while.
He’s kind, confident and genuinely a nice guy with a hurt heart. Good looking and very talented. The kind of man you want to swoop in and sweep you off your feet.

The motley crew of friends you really want in your life and the beautiful scene and settings created in this book.
And how could I forget her adorable caravan (the silver Airstream), that she moves into while renting out her gorgeous home to the very handsome Robinson.

What you have is an idyllic setting for two very sad people to meet, heal and fall in love – and that is exactly what happens. Neither of them intending to invest heart in their summer fling and yet they are so perfect for one another it’s almost painful.
Yes, it’s obvious that this is heading to a HEA but that is why I adore cosy romance. I read them for the emotions and the smiles and this one was nooo disappointment. Kat did it again in a feel good book that made you smile more than once and filled you with warm tingles at its closure.
Hot enough to keep you interested, a lot of cute and funny moments and the ex gets his just desserts. Alice wins at love and the whole crew get a dream ending that ties it all up with a gorgeous bow.
This book is a no brainer easy and light read. No heavy emotional stuff or overly gnawing topics and the characters are both witty and likable. Kat is well known for her easy read style and this one has a cover to die for. I am a huge cover whore and this one is a firm favourite with its colourful bright and sassy design. I own this as a paperback and it will grace my pretty books forever.

If you are in the Edinburgh area in the next week, then definitely go check it out. There are so many authors to go meet. My Publishing company is one of the named sponsors with many of my fellow Pict authors signing, and my PA will be in attendance too.
You can still sponsor the event too, so if you want to go read up all about the event or track them down on their Facebook page , use the link below.

Why join my fan group on Facebook?
I get asked a lot about my fan group, and often readers wonder if there is any point after they have read the books available to date.
I decided we should have this discussion so maybe I can stop answering the same questions below. A lot of you follow my author page and blog but feel you do not get enough updates on WIP and future events, that’s where the fan group comes in.
What is a fan group?
A Facebook private group filled with people who are reading or have read my books that are already published. A place where I do actually spend time talking to you all and having a laugh. it’s a group much like a chat group with a united love of Carrero. We talk about everything and anything and it had become a group of women who just like to chat.
Why should I join it?
If you want regular updates and insider sneak peaks of future books. If you want answers to things that have happened in the books or generally to be able to talk to other Carrero lovers about the stories, characters and feed your obsession. We have things like fantasy cast lists, extra’s, sneak peaks and Gif wars on a weekly basis. They are fast becoming a group of women who get along as friends.
Is there any point after I read the books?
Yes. You can talk over the books, get book recommendations from fellow fans and get inside news on my next WIP. I also do fan group exclusive live videos and giveaways. A lot of my readers have read the books multiple times and always ready to have a #teamarry and #teamjake debate at the drop of a hat.
Fan group rules.

I am in CCChat Magazine, May Issue
Nothing quite feels the same as having a fellow author that you completely respect, Pm you and pass you a link where she has featured you and your books in a magazine about domestic violence, a magazine covering Coercive control in relationships.
Jennifer and I are both authors under the Pict Publishing umbrella and have been Facebook friends for quite a few months now. She is a valued member of Pict and I have had many a great chat with her about a topic we both strive to bring awareness too, and that is abuse – in all its forms.
Jennifer is an ambassador for Domestic violence, coercive control more specifically, while my forte is in child abuse and I frequent the story lines in my books. Anyone who reads my books knows who many issues my heroines have weighted upon their shoulders from traumatic childhoods.
On chatting to Jen about the magazine, she had this to say…..
“CCChat is a new monthly online publication which aims to inform on Coercive Control and matters around it. CCChat is not afraid to tackle difficult topics that need to be addressed. I am delighted to write a monthly column for the CCChat Magazine which includes #AbuseTalk and also a monthly online book club which features books that feature domestic abuse in it.”
She also went on to say…“I am involved with CCChat Magazine because of my personal experience of coercive control and this magazine helps the readers learn about what coercive control really looks like. There are a wide range of readers and many are involved in the sector, that alone will make begin to make an impact”
“CCChat Magazine have been supportive of my vision and are always keen to let everyone know the latest news. My #AbuseTalk forum opens at the end of the month and I have been able to let readers know about this exciting development”
Find out about abuse talk by clicking here
Jennifer’s links to all issues of the Mags.
The magazine – www.coercivecontrol.co.uk/ccchat-magazine
The lovely Jennifer Gilmour shared this link with me in which she has featured me and my books on page 15 – Click here for the edition I am in. Go take a look and subscribe to the magazine for all future issues.
Thank you so much Jen for thinking of me when writing up this months article. I really appreciate recognition in highlighting forms of abuse throughout my series.
xx Leanne
