Our 23rd illustration in Tudor Queens and Consorts features the lovely Jane Seymour, based on a nineteenth-century portrait painted by Richard Burchett (1815-1875). I think one of my favorite parts of this page, aside from her gilded dress, is the little dog by her feet. I hope the real life pup provided some comfort for her!
