Blog Tour: Talking about creating my favourite character – the antagonist.
On the seventh stop of my blog tour to celebrate the release of The Captain’s Daughter as an ebook and The Thief’s Daughter as a paperback, I stopped off to talk to Joanne on the Portobello book blog.
I used the opportunity to talk about creating my favourite character – the antagonist and how to bring some depth to the pivotal role.

Plymouth Literature Festival
This year Plymouth literature festival (PlymLit17) is a nine-day event held in the historic city of Plymouth in Devon.
The aim is to offer something for everyone and will include readers of fiction, non-fiction and sports books through to writers of flash fiction, poetry and plays. The event is growing each year and this year events will be held around the city with the aim of connecting local writers and readers, showcase new talent and help people to discover new books.
I was delighted to be asked to join a panel of writers for a Q & A session, hosted by the business editor of The Herald, William Telford.
The panel was made up of an eclectic gathering of writers.
I have listed them below, from left to right.
Cally Starforth Hill is an author, poet, songwriter and writer of short stories. She has also written for theatre.
Samie Sands is a Cornish writer, like me, and author of the AM13 Outbreak series, published by Limitless Publishing.
Ryan Danes ‘s new book is called THE MAN WHO THOUGHT OUTSIDE THE BOX . He has written non-fiction and worked with well-known personalities such as former world heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon, Shane Meadows, and the estate of Big Daddy
Terri Nixon writes historical sagas and mythic fiction, including the Penhaligon Saga and The Lynher Mill Chronicles.
Playwrite, Chris Savery, has wowed New York audiences on Broadway and Paris. His play about Marilyn Monroe and the English Civil War featured at the Midtown International Festival in the Big Apple and later staged in Paris.
Then there is little old me.
Next in line is Johnny Mains, who is well-known for staging his Johnny’s House of Horrors movie screenings in the city, and bringing famous names from the genre to them. He is also an award-winning writer and editor.
Sasha Fenton is the author of fiction and many non-fiction titles in the mind, body and spirit genre.
We took it in turns to go on the stage to answer questions about our work, our route to publication and any advice we could offer budding writers. We also had the opportunity to read a sample of our work.
I had an enjoyable time and it was my first Q & A session at a literary festival. I hope it won’t be my last.

Blog Tour: A Q&A session with a difference.
On the sixth stop of my blog tour, I visited Shaz’s blog called Jera’s Jamboree, where she hopes to provide “an oasis from life’s pressures”. It was a Q&A session, my first of the tour, and her questions were both thought provoking and a little different from the norm. I loved taking part and if you would like to read the interview and wander around her blog, please click HERE
Blog Tour: My Heroine Beats Me To Morton S.Gray’s blog.
On the fifth stop of my blog tour to celebrate the release of The Thief’s Daughter in paperback and The Captain’s Daughter as an ebook, I visited a fellow Choc Lit writer, Morton S.Gray, author of the wonderfully romantic suspense novel, The Girl on the Beach.
Morton and I have been online friends since we both signed with Choc Lit. It is one of those friendship that just clicks and it was great to finally meet her in May at the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Summer Party where we were both finalists for the Joan Hessayon Award.
When Morton offered me a slot on her blog, I jumped at the chance only to find my heroine in The Captain’s Daughter had beaten me to it! Okay, so it wasn’t a surprise really, but what a great idea for a new blog series – character’s having a voice.

Blog Tour: Feeling at home on The Novel Points of View blog
On the fourth stop of my blog tour, I visited familiar surroundings – namely the collaborative blog I take part in called Novel Points of View.
The NPOV blog is created by six writers and a talented photographer, who are passionate about creativity. It’s a great blog with a variety of posts, each one spilling the beans on writing, narrative, photography, reading and more.
My blog tour post was my experience of a book launch. Please click HERE to lift the curtain on what really goes on behind the scenes.

Blog Tour; The Fourth Character
The second stop on my blog tour to celebrate the release of The Thief’s Daughter (in paperback) and The Captain’s Daughter (as an eBook) was on my publisher’s blog, so you can imagine I felt quite at home. Perhaps this is the reason why I chose to talk about the fourth character in my books. Hmmm who could that be?

Blog Tour Kicks Off; The Perfect Hero
The blog tour to celebrate the launch of The Thief’s Daughter in paperback and The Captain’s Daughter as an eBook started yesterday.
The first stop was on Linda’s Book Blog where I chatted about the perfect hero. I think we all deserve a perfect hero in our life, even if we only find him within the pages of a book.
