Help us send soldiers extra cheer this holiday season!

Picture Some of you will recall that last Christmas we held a book donation drive for members of the military. Well, it was so much fun, we're doing it again this year!

For every copy of Vector or Shifting Sands sold on Amazon December 11 to December 25, Michael Shusko will donate a copy of Vector to Books for Soldiers, an organization that provides servicemen and women with reading material to enjoy.

That's right! Whether you pay $4.99 for an ebook or $14.95 for a paperback copy of either book, your purchase will go toward a donation of the pricier paperback version of Vector to members of the military.

And, if you have a special person in mind whom you would like the donated copy to go to, you can email us directly at info@michaelshusko.com with a copy of your purchase receipt and the APO, FPO, or DPO address where we should send the donated book on your behalf.

Help us give the gift of a good story to members of our military. Buy a copy of Vector and Shifting Sands for all of the readers on your holiday gift list, and share this promotion on your Facebook page so that your friends can do the same.

Then lean back, sip on some cocoa, and enjoy knowing your purchase went toward spreading a little extra cheer to our troops!

Author Guest Post — Dual Reads

Picture In a recent guest post from author Michael Shusko published on Dual Reads, Michael writes on the meaning and art of tradecraft, how the series is connected, and what he hopes his readers will take from the books.

"While each of these books follows a different cast of characters, they're tied together by the common theme of tradecraft, and also by a brewing international crisis building up behind the scenes as featured characters try to resolve the immediate problems at hand."

Your mission, should you choose to accept it

Picture Dear family, friends, and fans,

Mike here. Thank you all so much for your support so far. You bring my books to life by reading them, and your positive reviews and words of encouragement continually inspire me to press on with publishing the rest of the series. For that, I'm eternally grateful—as are Lee Jansen, Emma Hess, Sara Qaderi, Nick Shane, and dozens of Tradecraft characters who exist because you've followed their stories.

We have a lot of exciting things in store for the Tradecraft series. Evil Winds, the third book, will come out spring 2018, and the Tradecraft team is on a mission to launch the title with a resounding BANG.

I would like to personally invite you, the first readers of my books, to join the Tradecraft Task Force—a grassroots battalion whose ultimate mission is to get the word out about all things Tradecraft.

As an Agent of the Tradecraft Task Force, you'll receive exclusive access to things like:Sneak peeks at pre-production chapters of the next books in the seriesAgent-only contests with the chance to win signed copies of books, Amazon gift cards, and/or Tradecraft merchandiseFirst looks at supplemental Tradecraft material, including preliminary character sketches, chapter outlines, and character historiesPeriodic book giveaways for titles similar to the Tradecraft series
Tradecraft Agents will spread intel about the series to the rest of the civilian population by:Sharing social media posts about the series from the books' website and Facebook page on your personal feed as often as you feel comfortableReaching out to any contacts that come to mind who might enjoy the books as much as you didBrainstorming more ways to get the titles front-and-center, and emailing ideas to info@michaelshusko.com
We've gained a lot of ground with the launch of the first two books—but there's still much more to be conquered. Our ultimate goal is to get these books on the map in such a big way that they become a major motion picture. To do that, we need book sales to be in the tens of thousands—and we could really use your help with digging in deeper and taking that hill!

When we succeed, I will personally host a private screening of the film for all Agents who signed up before the end of 2017. We'll make a big night of it—and I sincerely hope to see you there!

This is your mission, should you choose to accept it. Are you ready to report for duty?

SIGN ME UP!

Author Guest Post — He Said Books or Me

Picture In a recent guest post from author Michael Shusko published on He Said Books or Me, Michael writes on the inspiration for his latest thriller, Shifting Sands — and how war and conflict affect his cast of relatable characters.

"I had the chance to touch on the psyche of individuals exposed to the carnage of war, as well as explore the prejudices and misconceptions that can occur on the personal and global level that hinder conflict resolution."

Review of "Shifting Sands" — Dual Reads

Picture Perhaps you're like Clare at Dual Reads and military thrillers just aren't your thing. But if you're looking to mix up your to-read list, Shifting Sands might be the book for you. Before you dive in, read Clare's review of the second Tradecraft book. She particularly loved the character development and fast-paced plot — elements of a good novel no matter what the genre.
