BEAUTIFUL UGLY

Dear Readers,

BEAUTIFUL UGLY is out today in the U.S. (and will be out on 30th January in the U.K.) I am chuffed to bits and incredibly grateful that BEAUTIFUL UGLY has been chosen by Independent Booksellers, Barnes & Noble, Library Reads, Amazon, Book of the Month, Apple Books AND Audible as one of the best books to read this month.

BEAUTIFUL UGLY is about a British author called Grady Green who is having the worst best day of his life. Grady is on the phone with his wife Abby when he hears her slam on the brakes, get out of the car, then nothing. When he eventually finds her car by the cliff edge the driver’s door is open, her phone is still there... but his wife has disappeared. A year later, Grady is still overcome with grief when he travels to a tiny Scottish island to try to get his life back on track. Then he sees the impossible…a woman who looks exactly like his missing wife.

Marriage is made of a million beautiful and ugly moments stitched together into a shared tapestry of memories, all of which are viewed and remembered slightly differently. Wives think their husbands will change but they don’t. Husbands think their wives won’t change but they do.

Real life reminded me while writing this book that life is beautiful and life is ugly, which is why there might be tiny pieces of me hidden between the pages. If you'd like to come meet me on tour and find out all the latest news about my books and TV shows, please visit www.alicefeeney.com.

BEAUTIFUL UGLY is out today and available to buy wherever books are sold. I am genuinely blown away by all the love & support for this book and so very grateful. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy it!

GOOD BAD GIRL

Dear Readers,

My new novel GOOD BAD GIRL arrives in the U.S. next week, and I’m excited for readers to meet the characters and try to solve the mystery that connects them.

GOOD BAD GIRL is a story about four women, three suspects, two murders, and one victim. It takes place on Mother’s Day, but I wrote it for daughters. Relationships between mothers and daughters are complex and unique. Whether good, or bad, it is a relationship that cannot fail to shape us. I’ve always had a cast of strong women in my life, and this was a story I knew I had to write.

Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a pushchair, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth. Frankie is a prison librarian struggling to come to terms with losing her daughter. She makes an appointment to see a counsellor called Clio. Clio’s mother, Edith, has moved into a care home and isn’t at all happy about it. Patience works at the care home and has a special relationship with Edith.

Books can be mirrors and we don’t always like what we see. I want to take readers on a different kind of ride with this book, and I want them to know that they are not alone. History has a bad habit of repeating itself in families, and children sometimes inherit their parents’ mistakes. I like to believe that love always wins in the end, and that history doesn’t have to repeat itself if we choose not to let it.

Writers are nothing without readers and I have the best. Huge thanks to everyone who has preordered the book, I'm so grateful. Thank you for all your support, your beautiful pictures of the books on social media (I love seeing them), and the kind reviews. I hope you enjoy GOOD BAD GIRL.

Best wishes,

Alice Feeney
