Going Supanova with the Angel

It’s official! I will be attending Supanova in Brisbane and Adelaide in November this year. The pop culture expo is happening just after Angel of Storms reaches the bookstores, so expect lots of celebratory promotional antics.

AngelofStorms_revision-sm

The cover of Angel of Storms!

I am in awe of the talents of my publisher’s designers and artists. They’ve captured the mystery and magic of the worlds and characters of the Millennium’s Rule Trilogy once again.

These coincide with the release of the book, just in time for Trolls & Légendes. I’m getting excited about this festival now, and looking forward to meeting fans there.

More Anthology Goodness with the Year’s Best

Hot on the heels of the Time Trips anthology, another book I have a story in arrived on my doorstep:

yearsbest

The Year’s Best Australian Fantasy and Horror 2013 contains my story “Camp Follower”.

To have a story selected for a “Year’s Best” anthology is doubly flattering and exciting. It’s like winning an award AND receiving a story acceptance at the same time. And my story is keeping company with some fabulous tales by some very talented Australian authors, both new and established.

The anthology is available worldwide, too, so if you want a copy head to your preferred bookseller.

Tripping Through Time with Doctor Who

You know those weeks where something marvellous and something not very marvellous happen at the same time? Well, last week I twisted my ankle so badly my doctor and physio sent me for a second x-ray a week later because it looked like I’d broken it. (I hadn’t, but boy did I have some impressive bruising and swelling!)

But I forgot all that when I learned this lovely object went on sale:

timetripsanthology

So now you can buy my novella “Salt of the Earth” as both an ebook or in print with a bunch of other fabulous Doctor Who tales. Or both! The book really is a beautiful thing, with a softly tactile cover, blue edged pages and the most delightful illustrations by Ben Morris, so well worth adding to your collection.

Then, a little later in April, I will be visiting Poland. I don’t know if there are any details out yet about it, so keep an eye on my Polish publisher’s website for details.

The Angel Has Landed

I am happy (relieved and a little scared) to report that Angel of Storms, book two of the Millennium’s Rule series, has been submitted to the publisher.

Despite there being a million distractions and delays (illness, buying/selling/moving/fixing houses) I’ve had a fabulous time writing this book. It’s always been a delight to work on.

There’s still plenty of work to do to before my rough diamond is all carved and polished, and a lovely setting made for it, but right now I’m pouring a glass of bubbly and celebrating one of the big milestones of it’s life.

Cheers!
