I have property that I was having developed for a vacation home. It was just after sunset, and I was sitting on a small knoll enjoying the view. The fog had moved in so that I was isolated above the fog, and the idea for Beast came to me, based on that experience. You'll find that moment as a necessary theme to the book.(less)
Just read that Harper Lee will be releasing a new book! Wow! Interestingly enough, it was written prior to "To Kill A Mockingbird." The new book is actually a sequel to TKAM and continues Scout's story, twenty years later. Apparently, when Lee submitted this book to her editor, the editor was more interested in the flashbacks to Scout's childhood. On her editor's recommendation, Lee wrote TKAM and
