Countdown to November 1st Launch
On Tuesday, November 1 my first novel Letting Go will be released. It's going to be a big day, with lots of giveaways and surprises. Follow me on Facebook to keep up with the news and check in on November 1st for all the fun we have planned.
My first book signing went really well this past weekend. Despite hurricane Matthew blowing through, the Indie Bookfest went off without a hitch.
For the next 22 days I've got to finalize the audiobook, do some last minute tweaks to the ebook and trade paperback formats, and find some readers interested providing release day reviews with my advanced review copies.
If you're interested in trying it out and posting your review, reach out to me through my social media contacts on my website.

Going to the Indie Book Fest in Orlando
I'm heading to my second book convention. My first was the Romance Writers of America conference in San Diego a few months ago. I had a wonderful experience there. I learned a ton, met a bunch of really great authors, and pitched my first novel to agents and acquiring editors.
Now that I've got a short story, When The Water Burns, coming out with the The Hunt 2 anthology on October 1st, and my first novel Letting Go coming on November 1st I need to step up my conference game.
The authors of the The Hunt 2 will be at the public book signing on Saturday, October 8th from 3pm to 6pm. We will be offering signed copies of The Hunt 2 as well as other author's books.
I'm bringing fifty copies of Letting Go for those interested in purchasing an advanced signed copy and offering 100 free copies of my short story as well.
We'll also be offering a Thrill of the Hunt gift basket to one lucky winner that will include a specially labeled bottle of Chardonnay.
Hope to see you there!

The date is set: November 1st
It's been a long road to get to a point I was willing to share my stories with the larger world. I started writing daily three years ago and in that time have shared some of my stories without attaching my name to them. It was my secret hobby that almost no one knew about except my wife and closest friends. That all changes on November 1st, 2016.
Now that I've gotten the manuscript for Letting Go ready, gotten a cover done, and set up the kindle version for pre-order at Amazon, I've still got a ton to do.
The paperback is now formatted at CreateSpace and I'm investigating creating an audiobook version as well. A friend of mine owns a recording studio that I've been meaning to record some songs at, so maybe I'll kill two birds with one stone.
I'm sure no one really reads first time authors blogs, but maybe someone has advice to share, particular on the audiobook topic.

Writing on the Edges
Writing is not the center of my life, but it does a good job filling in the rough edges. I spend just enough time to take writing seriously, without taking myself too seriously as a writer.
