Come, let’s talk stories

BodhyCafe – meet, sit, chat, read, listen, sip, slurp, burp, laugh, write…

Let’s be a human collective once again. We were all distancing apart for a long time. We learned our lessons. We resolve to love each other more now. Hey, world, we want to be back in cafes soon.

Writers need readers. Readers need writers. And we all love coffee. Or tea. Or beer. And stories.

BodhyCafe is an open social network (hey, not an app, okay?) that offers you face to face meets. Real people. Real sessions. Real ...

Don Raul Comes In A Hydroplane

On the vast bluish-green Pasifika sea, a gleaming white hydroplane vroomed off at three hundred miles per hour.

Raging speed was the religion of a clamouring mind, a mind that longed to conquer time and space and everything in between. In the high noon glare the submarine-shaped Whitebird W7 raised a spectacular seawater wall in its trail.

This Strange Island

Kuhuma is a strange island.

Even in the blue dawn, a hot wind kept blowing over the Kuhuma Island that lay about a five-hour ferry ride from the mainland, Mejico. Here the earliest men and women of the earth lived surrounded by big white clouds and the huge blue Sea of Pasifika. The island had five mountains and on one the humans lived — the Kuhumans.

On the sea, when they went to fish at dusk, Kuhumans spoke to the lightning gods and laughed with them. But when they didn’t leave behind enough f...

Read The First Novel’s Prologue

The Boy on the Blue Mountain -MAGICAL CHRONICLES OF EARTHOPIA  (Book One)

Hell was in the air.
It was in the smoke and the fear and the incense and there was no getting away from its burn. Chimogo was trying to stay alive. She crept under a wicker basket where they used to keep the chickens. But the hell kept hanging in the air swelling and smelling too bloody close.

She sat curled up, cupping her mouth with her hands, trapped between her frail hopes and a bleeding death, trying to breathe witho...

All about Earthopia

Q: What is Earthopia?

A: Earthopia is a magically thrilling fantasy world, created by author Joshua Newton. Its first novel series is Magical Chronicles of Earthopia. The first book under the series is The Boy on the Blue Mountain. At the end of Book One, we see the beginning of the galaxy and how it got formed. In the near future, over a period of 13-16 hours, earth would crack and form 16 big portions that would remain in the orbit, rotating and circulating. It takes only thirteen years fo...

We, the pilgrims of fragrances

I sat crushing the grapes with my bare hands. Tender, round juicy balls kept bursting out of their black skin, oozing down between my fingers into a filling tumbler. A delicate fragrance of exploded fruits infused the book room where I sat cross-legged on floor. Viruses were forgotten. I was thinking of bees rather. And []

From films to books

Writing is a strange journey. It takes you from one nutty world to another. I’d always been a bookish guy. You know the type who’d jump from the flight or train and rush a cab to the nearest used-bookstore. Yet, once a renowned filmmaker emailed me asking to write a movie and I did. Then […]
