[Рафаил Адольфович Вольский] Rafail Adolfovich Volsky (1938-2007) - Soviet graphic artist, illustrator of books for adults and children. Academician of the International Theater Academy. Honored Artist of Russia.

Born in Moscow, on the Arbat, in the family of a stage artist.

In 1957 he graduated from the art school for gifted children. V. Surikov with a gold medal. In 1962 he graduated from the art department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute.

He has worked in book graphics for over 40 years. Has illustrated over 200 books for children and adults. Books by Samuil Marshak, Sergei Mikhalkov, Anatoly Rybakov, Viktor Dragunsky and other classics of children's literature, as well as writers from the republics of the Soviet Union, foreign countrie ...more
