Merry Christmas and All Other Season’s Greetings
Greetings, all the good people!
I’ll begin with the usual conversation starter – the weather. Winter is finally here, and it feels like a peculiar and unwelcome phenomenon. No snow yet, but the forecast is threatening for the end of the week. It does feel Christmasy though (that’s my little Christmas tree above ).
Now, on to the topic of books. First, I’m happy to report that I’m now a member of a book club. Yeah! Ironically, my writing experience has been affecting the way I process the ...

A Post of August
Hello!
The sun is shining today and the day is hot, and some of us are mighty tired of summer. Bring on the fall! Although I have to admit, not long now, not like in Florida where I used to live where the fall takes forever to arrive, and when it comes, it feels like more summer.
Anyway, I’ve been quiet lately – work, work, and more work. Also writing Sky Song, which sadly isn’t done yet. I’ll post another snippet from it later just to prove it’s moving along, albeit at a slow pace. Like ...

Spring Is Here to Stay and Inner Beast Ch.1
Hello, world!
What have you been reading lately? Lydia Hope, I hope (pun very much intended – ha!), among other things. Actually, as an author, I wish to be one of your many favorites, not the only one. So you go read other voices and come back to mine, and go away and come back again, over and over. That’s how it works. That’s the beauty of the vast literary market – the variety, not monotony. Can you imagine the old times when the only few literate people were the monks, and the only fe...

News and Thoughts
Hello there! Another post with news about me and what I think. And if that isn’t your cuppa, keep scrolling down to another piece of a story.
Some significant changes have taken place in my life. Namely, after 18 years in Florida, we moved to Maryland, a state I haven’t even visited prior to coming to live here, and the adjustment is HARD. It’s harder now that I’m all alone, waiting on my family to join me. I married young and have been a wife and mother for 23 years, never having lived alone...

New Year, New Resolutions
A good day to all and to all a Happy New Year!
This year, like every year, I make a list of new year resolutions so I can again not keep them. The fact that I’m still writing them on January 13 should tell you something about our success rate over here.
But this one I must keep. Because it isn’t about losing weight. This one is to post more frequently for the good folks that choose (voluntarily!) to follow me and read my posts as well as my books.
So here we go. First, I get a lot of question...

A brief update
Hello, friends!
Aiming at October 1st with Planet Zero release. Been a long time coming, and frankly, I’m ready to move on.
And moving right on to writing what I have dubbed Rix Universe Book 2. I already let it be known that Book 2 is Cricket’s book plus a certain tortured Rix hero. The hero’s (nick)name is Lyle and the book’s working title is “Sky Song.”
That’s all I have. Thanks for reading! Cheers.

August 2021 is almost gone…
… and what do we have to show for it? I have extra pounds to show for it, but I’m not actually showing that. August is also my Birthday month, so it’s always bittersweet to see it go. But, it kicks off a season of birthdays in my family, with daughter in September, son in November, husband in December, and another son in January – not to mention all the other good stuff we all get to celebrate! Maybe that’s why I have a thing for fall and fall decor, so my house is already resembling one giant p...

May Updates
I want to start this update like I want to start every other post: by thanking my readers for their interest in my writing, and for the kind words you leave for me by way of reviews or messages. I receive and read every one. They make my day, and I always end up feeling uplifted and humbled. It’s such a great way to feel. I do write for myself. But I also write for you. Stories can’t exist by themselves; stories are meant to be told, and I am grateful that you listen, that you share willingly wh...

Another slice of life from Planet Zero. The book is coming along obnoxiously slowly. And who knew that working from home would consume more of my time than going to the office? How is it even possible? I swear, there are some dark forces at play.
Anyway, this little episode takes place fairly soon into the book after Addie has made tentative progress in befriending some native For women. But not everyone in their tribe is as welcoming and ready to accept her. She is the strange one here, the ...

As promised, a DRAFT of the first chapter is posted here. Now, it isn’t always advisable for the writers to share their work so early in the process, but as a self-published author I get to set my own rules a little bit. That being said, it is very early in the process, and the manuscript, including this one chapter, will likely undergo multiple revisions before the final product is ready for the mass market. Just something to keep in mind.
How likely are you to read this book when it’s finis...
