PocketDocs Running with Scissors: The Man with the AK-47 is my Friend
On a suggestion of a friend, I decided to enter the Australia Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) PocketDocs: Running with Scissors project. The objective was to write a 500 word story about a moment you did something reckless.
I decided to give it a go and entered a story about my first overseas travels as an adult, backpacking through Kenya and describing several of the risking situations I found myself in. ‘The Man with the AK-47 is my Friend’ got picked up and you can read it here.
May of my...

Most book trailers are–let’s face it – terrible, so I thought if I’m going to put one together, I better make it good. So my first step was watchingmovie trailers like SPECTRE, Skyfall, Jason Bourne and other spy movies for ins...

Miniseries Review: The Night Manager
I generally find John Le Carre film and television adaptations to be hit and miss, but in The Night Manager the world might just have been presented with the best Le Carre adaptation yet.
The six part miniseries is the story of former British soldier, Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston), working as the night manager for a luxury hotel in Cairo. While the riots of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution threaten the streets outside the hotel, Pine soon becomes involved with guest Sophie Alekan (Aure Atika), t...
